Does anyone have statistic as to how many people missing for more than say 5 or 10 years are found either dead, alive or never found? And the statistics of children under the age of 5 with the afore mentioned answers?
Have people forgotten about Katrice Lee, Ben Needham, Johnny Gosch? The only baby I can name as being found is Natalie Horrell.

It would appear one of the suspects, Ariel Castro, who actually lived in the house, has been investigated for possible child abduction and lost his job after the incident noted below.

Why is the press so quiet about Michelle Knight? Was no family there for her?
It seems she is in hospital, possibly a special one, her mother was on CNN this morning saying she hoped her daughter would let her visit her.  As the details emerge of what this man did to them, I would think Michelle will have a much longer period of readjustment.

Michelle Knight doesn't appear to be in a very good state.  Five miscarriages and facial injuries due to beatings.  And there is some speculation about her family being involved in a child of hers being taken away from her prior to her abduction.

I'm not sure I would be too keen on seeing my mother under those circumstances.

I hope and pray that she recovers.  But I doubt that she wishes that she was dead.

I believe her mother was convinced she had run away when she disappeared, and she moved away to another State.  I presume that she didn't try to keep her daughter's profile high in the way the families of the other 2 girls did.

If that's true then that will be very hard for Michelle to come to terms with.  Also the mother must feel dreadfully guilty.   All very sad.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

I believe that what you say is correct.  Her mother has also had another child herself.  So poor Michelle has been kicked in the teeth all round.

Yes, there is a lot of evil in this world, icabod, and it's so awful.
