But Anne, if it wasn't for Amaral - we probably wouldn't be here. You really can't expect him never to get a mention -or to be universally admired for that matter. People feel very strongly about his handling of this case - or 'mishandling' as many of us see it.
After reading his sneering remarks and nasty inuendo about the McCanns and others in his book - then as far as I am concerned he is fair game for similar treatment.
I'm sure there were and are many hardworking, honest, dedicated police officers in the PJ - but IMO Amaral was not one of them.
Mr Amaral is just a pretext. We're here because some don't accept a doxa, the abduction, is propagated as if there was evidence of it, others because they're curious of what happened to Madeleine McCann, others because they feel like fighting for the McCann clan !
I had a very quick look at Mr Amaral's book and didn't find any "sneering remarks and nasty inuendo" about the McCanns. Could you be more specific ?
There's a point you're omitting all the time : the self called PI who received a lot from the fund without doing the job are never ever taken for what they are : crooks. Why ? Because they never doubted Madeleine was abducted ?
