I have no doubt that Amaral's motivations were self-serving, Sadie.

The point is, how are the McCanns going to prove that in court. So far, based on what they seem to be coming up with, it is hard to work out any kind of strategy on their part.

If the 'investigation' was impeded by Amaral's book, go to the people conducting the investigation at the time, namely the detectives, and ask them specifically how their work was affected. David Edgar failed to give us any reasons.

I am not saying Amaral's thesis has substance - personally, I think it's nonsense - but proving so requires facts.

You can't combat hearsay with more hearsay.
