The cars

Digging through the statements I stumbled upon the words of Linda McQueen, a family friend who helped the McCanns after Maddie vanished.

During 2007 I travelled to Portugal on 3 separate occasions: from 12 - 19 May; 26 - 29 June; and 19 - 26 August.

During the first week that I was in Portugal Kate and Gerry were transported [driven] by representatives of Mark Warner. Sandy Cameron was also there and possessed a hire car, but it was not the Renault Scenic that Gerry and Kate rented during
the third week that I stayed with them in Portugal.

In the second week that I was there, I travelled [to Portugal] with Nicky Gill. We stayed with the Trish and Sandy in the apartment close to Kate and Gerry. On this occasion Gerry drove a hire car but I do not remember if it was the previous car of Sandy or the Renault scenic.

Now, Gerry rented the Scenic on 27th May, so it is probable it was the car he was driving during the Linda's second stay. But there is an interesting info that Gerrys brother-in-law, Sandy, had a hire car, before the McCanns hired the Scenic.

Sandy's wife does not mention a hire car, she does mention, though, something else:

We arrived in Portugal on Saturday morning, where a friend lent us a car to use and we went to Praia da Luz.

It seems the Camerons had a car while being in Praia and certainly the McCanns had the access to it.

So to put this all into context and on the basis that the above information is valid...

Sandy Cameron (Gerry's brother-n-law) and partner Trish arrived in Portugal on Saturday 5th May 2007 which was a few days after Madeleine disappeared.  On arrival they were lent a car by a friend and travelled to Praia da Luz.

As this car was used by the McCanns this raises some interesting questions.

* Was this vehicle ever tested with the others?

* Why is there no reference to this vehicle in any of the McCann statements or interviews?

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

How fortunate they were to have such friends living locally who could afford to lend a car.
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

Or maybe not -

OG have been pushed out by the Germans who have reserved all the deck chairs for the foreseeable future

Why should it be in The McCann's statements and interviews?

The pertinent question is, did The PJ and Amaral know about this?

The PJ and Dr Amaral must have known about it ... the statement is in the files ... as is a letter of request with a list of questions regarding the Renault.

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....
