Ive noticed that Max Clifford's barrister's cv says that he acts for Bamber. How can Bamber afford a senior QC like that?

I meant to say that this guy has a very good reputation. He's a leading criminal QC ie he's no Simon Mckay.
Of course, one good thing could come out of it - he could advise Bamber that his case is hopeless.

As far as I'm aware Richard Horwell QC acted for JB with regard to the ECHR/life tariff only.  This has nothing to do with the WHF murders and what JB considers is his MoJ.
Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

Again according to NGB fresh submissions are due with the CCRC before year end.  There are a number of relevant posts on this thread:

Good grief...posters will start talking and accuse me of sleeping with the enemy  8)><(

I was reading in the papers yesterday about the footballer Chad Evans.  He was convicted of rape and served 2.5 years of a 5 year sentence.  Released a few days ago.  Apparently CE's legal team have put together a new case and the CCRC are fast-tracking it so he doesn't have to wait the normal 18 months.

Apparently JB has a new submission winging its way to CCRC which is due before year end, but assuming he has to wait the normal 18 months it would seem that JB is going nowhere fast which I am sure will please some!

I dont think the CCRC will even consider the further submissions in any detail. They made it clear last time around that the case was now closed (as far as they were concerned) after nearly 30 years and they wouldn't have made such a statement unless they were willing to follow it through. Unless the Lord Chief Justice said something at last year's judicial review hearing ( to the effect that further submissions should be lodged on a certain point rather than the court deal with it in that JR) I dont think the CCRC will do a lot more than briefly consider the submissions and then throw them out. All Bamber can then do is apply for yet another Judicial Review and the odds will be massively stacked against him on that application.

My understanding is that the CCRC is duty bound to accept unlimited submissions from defendants and each application must be treated on its own merit.

Well they have the same obligations as the courts to deal with applications fairly ( they cant simply reject the application out of hand) but they can take a view and dismiss it without going into nearly as much detail as last time and I believe that that will be the case here.  As i said, the CCRC  made a clear statement last time about finality and unless something major comes up in the new submissions, I dont think they will be wasting much time on this.

I am sure they have experienced case handlers who are capable of sorting the wheat from the chaff  8(0(*

To work as Jeremy's new lawyer must be need a lot of motivation.

The recent CCRC application was dismissed and a new application may never happen. What new legal avenues can anyone find ?
