This witness (Jeremiah), who is here talking to the child's father (Gerry) says that after he was about to go home, he sees a woman in a purple colour smoking outside the door of Jane Tanner's apartment......

That's somewhat different to the statement from JW in the files but does offer a reasonable explanation of JT perhaps smoking a cigarette outside prior to going to the Tapas Bar & being the same woman seen by Mrs Murat.

That is physically impossible what Amaral is describing.  From where Gerry and Jez are talking there is no way Jez can see JT outside her apartment.

The entrance to the Tapas apartments is via the recessed entrance hall part way along the walled pathway at the front that all the Tapas group had to walk to reach their apartments.

I feel confident in saying that had Jane been standing outside their apartment door, nobody passing by along the road (Jenny Murat) would have seen her .... and Jenny Murat did not travel that road (I think).  Baptistas supermarket is on the adjoining road.   Unless Jez used the same entrance hall for his flat, he would not have seen Jane either

Amaral is claiming the JW sighting of JT in the doorway occurred at shortly after 9.15 as he was returning to his apartment in Block 4 - not at around 8.15 as Jez reported in his statement.
Mrs Murat saw her "lady in purple" on the street corner,  at around 8pm.
