I can see 4 passports with some paper in there too between the bottom two. All the passports were shown to the GNR commandant at some point. Perhaps he kept Madeleine's for some reason?  Beneath the stack is some paper with printing on it. On top of it is some torn up paper (?) and the bunch of keys on top. Did they include keys brought with them from home? Can I see a car key?  Whatever time the passports were shown to the GNR the keys were placed on top either at the time or later, so they were handled after the GNR arrived.

The picture caption translates as: "Personal belongings and valuables in perfect alignment"

But where is the "perfect alignment" referred to in the caption?  Maybe they were before they were handled ... but I don't see it in that photograph ... does anyone else?
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

In what way is that post off topic ... in your considered opinion?

As Robbity showed, it wasn’t her passport photo so the rest of your post was off topic.

I think it was a tongue in cheek reference to the passport stack.

I've not translated any of the other captions, John, but surely they wouldn't put flippant captions on crime scene photographs?

Please read my post again carefully.

It makes absolutely no reference to any photograph whatsoever ... it was in reference to the press release authorised by the Portuguese authorities in a publicity drive initiated by Goncalo Amaral ... and the fact that such publicity including YELLOW ALERT were in use in Portugal in missing person cases ... contrary to forum myth.

The information used was taken from Madeleine's passport as indicated here ... http://www.mccannpjfiles.co.uk/PJ/MADELINE.htm

I think they are referring to reply #06 which gave the impression the PJ used her passport photo (to me anyway)

"Didn't the Policia Judiciaria make use of Madeleine's passport photograph for identification purposes?

To do that would require her passport."

Maybe that explains why they've never found her?

The passport 'missing' and keys situsation were another anomaly I found interesting.
