A children's hospital for 2 million squid?
« on: May 19, 2013, 01:28:26 AM »
I don't know what the current rate for children's hospitals is right now in the UK.

But 2 million Sterling would probably pay for one.

This amount of money has been spent on the NSY's toothless review of a review of a review

Which has not resulted in a single charge.

We get miles of press releases though and NSY officers' green fees.

Sick to the backteeth with this self-serving 'review'

And K&G should pull the plug on this PR exercise - if they are to maintain any credibility.

I must say registrar, I have to agree with you for once.  What a waste indeed!
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

Funny you should say that ...  I was thinking earlier just how many children's lives could have been saved with that kind of money  .... in  an underfunded hospital in the Ivory Coast, for instance

I can't help but shake my head in sadness at the waste

In fact why do we bother with any crime that does not have a financial motive. Why bother to spend inordinate amounts on murder enquiries and such. Why did they spend all that money searching for the Welsh girls who has almost certainly been disposed of in a mincer.

Police should only investigate crime where there is a financial pay off for the country.

Let's get going with that rational re-organisation soon!

When the SY investigation was initiated, I forecast then that, when in the fullness of time, the investigation did not accuse the McCanns, that the [ censored word ]s would then round on SY.

Seems I was about right!

The on-going costs of running the hospital (employing doctors and nurses and all the other costs) would dwarf the cost of building it.

Not a reasonable comparison, I would say ...

You are quite right Icabod, but how much that was given would go to lining somebodies pocket ?  These days I prefer to give directly where possible.

And aren't we being premature?  SY stated that they had new info last year.  Give them a chance to interview people of interest and thoroughly test out this new info.

The task they took on is massive and my bet is that for the first year or two, they were floundering to sort the deliberate red herrings from the truth.  We are fortunate in that we have seen it all unfold and have a built in understanding / encyclopeidic knowledge of certain aspects.

Am not sure that "fortunate" is the right word! >@@(*&)

In an earlier thread someone had worked out the cost of the review as 19pence per person.

surely we can find another 19 pence for a hospital as mentioned ?

What doesn't seem to be recognised is that SYards review will be identifying satelite problems to do with trafficking, paedophilia, sexual offences, drugs and corruption etc.  Same as the Jimmy Savile case (Operation Yewtree) identified satellite paedophiles and sex offenders

The Sheffield Childrens Hospital operating costs last year were £142M of which £5m related to property costs. I don't think we could build much for £2M

We aren't short of hospitals for children but we are certainly short of good doctors like Gerry McCann.

All this will be wasted on Registrar, who is clearly not remotely interested in matters of truth ...
