Searches in Portimão Council involving Vice President

The Portimão Council reported today that the searches made by the Judicial Police (PJ) in municipal facilities, held in connection with an investigation involving the vice president Luís Carito and Councilman Jorge Campos.

In a short statement sent to media, the Portimão Council indicated that the searches are related to procedural steps that are targeting the two mayors, elected by the Socialist Party.

The searches, according to the city, "are related to a process that originated in anonymous complaints in 2011, involving the municipal company Portimao Urbis."

For its part, the municipal source told Lusa that the efforts of PJ extended also to the residence of the two mayors.

The management of municipal enterprises Portimão, to which are attached the two councilors, has been investigated since 2012 by PJ.

The agency Lusa contacted the board of Faro PJ who declined to advance any evidence about the case.

LOL, I too would liken that in English and an explanation as to relevance as well
