“The girl said her name was Hailey”.

What has a Name got to do with anything?  I don't suppose that Madeleine is called Madeleine any more.

I dare say the mother had something to say as well.  8(0(*

On the contrary, I imagine that any statement by the mother would be very important in establishing the identity of this child.

Some seem to think that parents anywhere in world need to prove their own children are theirs.

Presuming that is her Mother.

Some of them do. And that is a fact.

Might I ask how you have come to that as well as “it would be difficult to extract her “ etc. ?
Sounds like an operation  undertaken by the SAS  at times.

Presuming that is her Mother.

Police would need to prove that it was not the case.

What they are doing. Getting on with life and accepting that they are a family with a missing member. They're not the only ones, there are many such families.
So because they’re not the only ones with missing children they should just accept it and get on with life?  Well, why the hell should they if they don’t want to?

That would make Madeleine the unluckiest child ever imo. Stranger abduction is incredibly rare for a start. To be located in one of the few countries that don't cooperate via Interpol would be the icing on the cake.
Maybe that would be a deliberate move on the part of the kidnapper?

Because anything else is just self destructive IMO.
