There's many working class people with degrees and professional careers. All are middle-class by income but not all embrace middle-class values.

Unfortunately  a degree does not guarantee a middle class income

I take it you have researched back to 2000 when Gerry was Celtic's doctor?

Is that true? All evidence of it seems to have disappeared.

There is a lot that has disappeared off the net after 15 or so years

Apologies for taking this thread off at a tangent. Posts have been expunged.
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

Well according to Amaral,  the McCanns are upper middle class. *%87
On a thread elsewhere on the forum.
I still find it all a mystery.

I fear Amaral doesn't understand the intricacies of the British class system.

Portugal would have a type of class system too though wouldn't it?

Seems a bit biased but this article was readable http://countrystudies.us/portugal/51.htm "SOCIAL CLASSES" in Portugal.

When I was young the Churches loomed large in everyone's lives. Now they're irrelevant in most people's lives. It seems surreal to be discussing whether sectarianism had a part to play in the divisions over the McCann case, but there are similarities.

Sorry but once again I am struggling to get the meaning of what  you are saying.
To me if you say "I don't" that would imply you disagree, or do you mean you don't disagree?

I think I get it now after reading this https://forum.wordreference.com/threads/difference-between-i-dont-either-and-neither-do-i.1580836/

From that I understand you as saying: you also don't "understand the intricacies of the British class system".

Is that what you meant?

One shouldn't do this as it is frighfully infra dig old top but "Talk Celtic.net" has some interesting views expressed thereon.

I suppose the scuttlebutt will be that it's really a bunch of Glasgow Rangers or Heart of Midlothian supporters making trouble  ?{)(**

A sweeping statement to make.
Not irrelevant in mine or many of my family and friends.

I find it interesting that even in  countries such as Russia where religion  was allegedly irradicated that regilious devotion seems to be increasing.

All members might have to declare their favourite football club, and then we might begin to see a pattern.

Of course there are people who are still committed to church membership, but as a whole  the UK  can be seen as a secular rather than a Christian country.

In the 1950's most people in the UK belonged to a Christian religion, but a decline began in the 1960's and has continued ever since.
.
In 2017 15% identified themselves as Anglicans, 9% as Catholics, 17% as other Christians and 6% as non Christian believers. It's the young who are least interested and the old who are most interested.
