There's a lot of rule breaking, but not often by me.

And not often by me

Madeleine and her parents very quickly became associated with the church in Luz where Kate and Gerry sought and found much solace after Madeleine's disappearance.
That has raised sceptic questions and criticism.

Madeleine's parents went to Rome and received a blessing from the Pope.
That has raised sceptic questions and criticism.

They went to the shrine at Fatima.
That raised sceptic questions and criticism.

They were loaned a bible.
That raised sceptic questions and criticism.

Even the request for a priest formed an enduring plank of criticism not to mention the subsequent social media treatment of Father Pacheco.

Religion and the misinterpretation of it has in my opinion featured largely in Madeleine's case from the word go.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Si why do you doubt them
Because there is no evidence to support their story that Madeleine was taken by a paedophile .
Isn’t that the story a family member put out so very early on?
Nor is there any evidence that Madeleine was abducted at all.

It was the McCanns who made religion a feature of the case, despite not being particularly religious before or, indeed, afterwards;

February 2008

as Gerry puts it, “I am not the most religious person in the world.”

Nor is his brother;

“I think there’s probably still no God"

Somehow the media got the wrong idea;

The couple are keen runners and devout Catholics, attending weekly services at their local church in Rothley, Leics.

How do you know how religious they are since Madeleine's disappearance.
His brother said" I think there's probably still no God"
What has that to do with Gerry.

It's partly ignorance which can lead to false assumptions being made.
I would never criticise any religion or religious practices without being absolutely sure of my facts.
All of the clergy both Anglican and Catholic have been the subject of unfair scrutiny and even wild accusations.

You either mean “all” the clergy which is patently false, or that some have been victimised which in the current climate of child abuse would require more explanation than just a bald statement.

I mean the two Catholic priests and the one Anglican vicar who helped the McCanns have been the subject of unfair scrutiny and ridiculous accusations by SOME sceptics.
Why would I be bringing into this discussion the  subject of the current climate of child abuse !

Have you never read some of the theories suggested on anti McCann sites?

I'm not repeating them here.

Theories which include accusations and libellous speculation are surely cites for accusations and libellous speculation.

Only if you link to them, which you seem unwilling to do.
