I think his Dad knew what the score was.

What a terrible thought to contemplate that your son is a risk to your well being because of money.  The difference for Mr Bamber being that the son was not his own.   8(8-))
Most people suspect the truth but few are able to admit it.

I think his Dad knew what the score was.

I think so, too.

"An ungrateful son with an insatiable thirst for cash." And I bet a few numpties would argue "why would he kill his parents? They gave him money and a house."

Quote from Det.Ch.Insp. Denise Worth of Greater Manchester Police...

"Killing someone is heinous enough but to kill their parents and plan it and do it for money - it's almost indescribable."

The same words could have been said of Jeremy Bamber after his trial in 1986.

Didn't Nevill Bamber confide in Barbara Wilson, albeit in an enigmatic way?

A more detailed report here and the Comments say it all....

An appalling murder to think he shot his parents with a sawn-off shotgun.  I notice he is being sentenced tomorrow so lets hope the sentence isn't as derisory as that handed out to other killers.

Pensioners Robert Seddon, 68, and Patricia, 65, were killed with a sawn-off shotgun.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

Stephen Seddon guilty of murdering his parents.

Cheryl Hramiak, Branch Crown Prosecutor at CPS North West said:

“As a result of today’s verdicts Stephen Seddon has been brought to justice for the violent and premeditated murders of his own parents and for an earlier attempt on their lives.

“He had planned these crimes in enormous detail and went to great lengths to cover his tracks and avoid detection, staging the scene of the murders to make it look like his father was responsible for the shootings. After his failed attempt to kill his parents by driving the car into the canal he even presented himself as a hero for trying to rescue them. His motive was purely financial: to get his inheritance without waiting for his parents to die. Since then he has tried to deceive everyone about what really happened and has shown no remorse whatsoever.

“The prosecution team has meticulously pieced together hundreds of items of evidence to present an overwhelming case that Stephen Seddon intended to kill his parents; that he failed in his first attempt but tragically succeeded in doing so in July 2012.

“The jury have consequently rejected his version of what happened when he drove the car into the canal and his bogus, and outlandish, accounts of the day that he killed his parents. They have recognised them for what they are – a catalogue of lies.

“I would like to offer my sincere sympathies to Robert and Patricia’s family and friends. I hope the justice that has been delivered today will go some small way towards helping them to come to terms with their loss.”

Stephen Seddon sentenced to life... with a minimum term of 40 years (whole life tariff), and told he will never be paroled !!!

He even had the gall to call at the judge "No, not at all, they were not murdered by me at all. I'm an innocent man!''

All we have to wait for now is a dodgy polygraph machine test and an army of pseudo-psychiatrists being wheeled into his cell to prove that he's not a liar or a sociopath.

He'll be a bit short in the Seddonette Department though... he just isn't young and good-looking enough. So he'll have to rely one of his loopy ex-jail buddies starting up a forum to come up with crackpot ideas about why he couldn't have done it.... for the next 40 years !

Some excellent Greater Manchester Police combined CCTV footage of the movements of Stephen Seddon on the 4th. July, 2012, the day his parents were murdered.

Most of the footage shows his location in Fleetwood, Lancashire & Seaham, County Durham in the morning and afternoon, but his car can be seen passing a NISA supermarket , Manor Avenue, Sale in both directions at 1.52pm and 2.03pm (his parents are thought to have been murdered at their Sale home between 12.30pm and 3.30pm)
The investigators must have used image enhancing software such as Amped 5 to identify the car and registration number.

Notice too that he's changed his tee shirt from light blue to darkblue/black and back to light blue again during the day.
Could he have disposed of the dark coloured one if it had been bloodstained?

I'm all in favour of CCTV if it helps to convict dangerous criminals like this loser.

Have you noticed how they completely avoid debating any case which remotely resembles Bambers?  @)(++(*

They do not really debate things there.  Mike rambles on in the corner like some abusive old woman with Dementia.

Every so often a new thread begins about another stunning new piece of evidence that proves JBs innocence, everyone piles in and adds their bit, Steve disagrees and the whole thing dissolves into personal abuse.  Everyone avoids replying to Mike to avoid more abuse.

It is like a terminal old-folks home but we cannot smell the wee.

I suppose I am being unkind to old-folks homes.  Maybe more like an asylum for the terminally confused.

Not like you to be so cynical Myster?   @)(++(*

I have been out all day but been trying to keep up to date with events as much as possible.  40 years eh?  20 years per parent.  It still makes human life look cheap but I suppose it is an improvement on Bamber's 5 years per life or Hall's 13 years.  At least they are going in the right direction...even poor old Devils Advocate got 14 years today.

Anyone that knows me will tell you that cases like this make me lose faith in mankind a little bit every time I read them. As a person from a close and loving family I find cases such as this incomprehenable. I also realise that some people are not so fortunate as others in that they do not have the closeness that many have. However, this inhuman s..mbag deserved his sentence and then some. What is it with people like this? Do they grow up with a  fixation about money? Money seems to dominate their lives and their thinking and ultimately, their actions.
This piece of garbage willingly and brutally murdered the very people that gave him life - his own parents - who loved and protected him, simply to line his own pockets. He tried once and failed so he finished off what he started. The interview where he is with his parents playing the 'hero' was sickening. The acting and the false modesty and reminiscent of Jeremy Bamber back in 1985.
This ingrate is undoubted affected by the same personality disorder - psychopathy. The complete and utter lack of feeling for other human beings. The consumate acting, the conning (He had a history of deception) the lies, the callousness and manipulation, make this waste of protoplasm nothing more than an oxygen thief. I hope that he spends his entire existence on this earth behind bars, never to see the light of day again.
