The cite provided Re the brigade of information  shows the PJ used the provided statements to help draw up the timeline..
I would say the mccanns provided the new statements to help the investigation
Have you heard of  the expression "look before you leap"?

I'm making the point these, are witness statements..
Could you explain what is, wrong with the mccanns offering revised statements to the PJ...perfectly legal

Apply your logic to any other criminal case and perhaps you'll see the problem.

Incidentally it is without question that senior elements in the PJ suspected the parents were involved in the dissappearance of their daughter. IMO this makes them "suspects". That's not a dirty word.... it doesn't make them guilty of any crime. When you follow due legal process a suspect is presumed to be innocent unless proven guilty beyond all reasonable doubt (or whatever burden of proof the Portuguese courts require for a conviction).

Furthermore the BBC didn't seem to agree with your assertions:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7400416.stm

"A Portuguese judge overseeing the Madeleine McCann inquiry has extended judicial secrecy by a further three months, court officials have confirmed.

The files would otherwise have been open for consultation from Thursday by those involved in the case, including Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry.

They are formal suspects, as is Briton Robert Murat, but all deny involvement.

Madeleine, of Rothley, Leicestershire, disappeared from a holiday apartment in the Algarve on 3 May last year. "

Perfectly legal for the perpetrator to change his statement too.  If anything it attracted PJ attention to the group.
Are these statements in the PJ Files?

They are referred to in the files which proves the PJ saw them but have not been released

So are the statements taken by Control Risks (we will gloss over the fact that the whole group were breaking judicial secrecy) substantially different, and more importantly, more accurate than those taken by the PJ ?

according to kate...yes. What it does prove is the claim that sceptics have repeated here that the Tapas have never highlighted errors in the statements is false

So apart from Kate there is absolutely nothing to independently verify that the  statements taken by Control Risks were  substantially different, and more importantly, more accurate than those taken by the PJ. Further the place for the tapas group to iron out any inaccuracies in their original statements was in their rogatory interviews and that didn’t happen...even though they had their original statements to hand.
