I was laughing at the old fashoned imperial measuring of distance. Most europeans have been using metric for years! As have many younger UK citizens.
Brexit will change all that.

To the moderators: if possible, can we discuss Holly’s theory?
Not really unless Holly is willing to discuss it.

Indeed, one of many on here, I believe.
Fortunately, being a scientist, I had a lifetime with the metric system, so metres hold no fear for me  8(0(*

I'm one of the die-hards who flip between the two systems.  Height of a man is in feet and inches.  "6 foot tall"
And if a car is flying down the road it is always going at "100 miles and hour".

Octogenerians are encyclopedias. They have wisdom, far beyond what me and you would admit. Respect.

Old people vary just like young people do. Some learn, some don't, some are nice, some aren't, some are wise, some foolish.

There's one thing worse than growing old... Dying young

That's not for me to judge. In my opinion only the foolish rest on their laurels. No matter how old we are we;re still on a journey, we haven't arrived. We should still strive to improve.
