Read his rog, after crossing the road from the tapas and pool area he then crossed again to speak to GM,all this criss crossing and not a sight of Tanner or Tannerman. He saw a woman in purple though.

He saw a woman in purple when he left block four at the start of his walk with his son.

The devil is in the detail and the detail you have suggested is not what was said in the statement.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Words,we're not a court of law but one of opinion which in the real world is of no consequence.

Sworn statements are not opinion.

Sworn statements are not opinion.
Of course they are, unless verified. Every time.
'What colour was the tennis bag, Karen?'
'Sort of a bluey colour'.

Sworn statement, but opinion.

Here are the possible reasons for the inconsistency -
1) Jane Tanner lied.  She never walked past Gerry and Jes although she DID at some point in time close to the time Gerry and Jes were chatting see a man carrying a child who was later identified by SY as Totman
2) Jane Tanner lied.  She never walked past Gerry and Jes and she never saw a man carrying a child, it's pure coincidence that a man matching her description carrying a child at the time she said she saw him was identified by SY
3) Jane Tanner lied, she never walked past Gerry and Jes and the Met are lying too when they say her sighting has been identified and eliminated
4) Jane Tanner did not lie, Gerry did not see her but Jes did - the latter is lying about not seeing her.
5) Jane Tanner did not lie, Gerry did see her but lied about not seeing her, Jes did not see her
6) Jane did not lie, but both Gerry and Jes lied about not seeing her.
7) No one lied, they all remembered events slightly differently, and the men who were engaged in conversation did not notice Jane walk by.

Have I missed anything out?  Can we take a vote on which seems the most plausible explanation?

In red,SY have never named who it was.

How many inconsistencies would be permissible in your view?  Can you put a number on it?

Let's say far too many for something that would stick in your mind for something that had just happened.

Perhaps adding " ... which led to ... ".  Possibly just semantics ... but weird that is all you could pick up on from the choices given.

Choices are exactly that,I'll reply to which suits me,not any one else.

I'm not following your reasoning here.

In my opinion that is precisely what happened as far as Jane Tanner was and is concerned.  Only later interventions trying to rubbish Jane's testimony have caused any confusion.
The person who was there at the time and witnessed events has never deviated from what she saw and experienced.

Are you under the impression my reference is to your post ???

My reference was to the original post which you answered.  Sorry if that wasn't clear to you.

Check it out and note at least three points of view for exactly the same incident.

Sworn statement, but opinion.

Could I offer my tuppence worth here.  Sworn statements can include opinion, lies, truths, observations and many other things.  People should never assume that anyone making a sworn statement or any other form of statement are in fact being truthful.

Not the same at all - two men talking neither saw JT.

Wouldnt you think really though if JT saw two men outside the apartment in a narrow street

gmcn would have at least been disturbed if it wasnt him - who was it especially when abductors are roaming about.
