A rather surprising supporter is right wing Tory MP Andrew Hunter.

He still thinks the police were in conversation ......

The Telegraph article is behind a pay wall.

I'm not paying to read that!  %56&

Interestingly relatives who didn't stand to inherit if JB was convicted didn't seem to have anything adverse to say  *%87

The Howies who were June's cousins (I think) stood bail for JB.

George Tweed was a second cousin to NB and his wife liked JB a lot!

Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

I don't share his case related views but nonetheless he believes JB innocent.

I thought you would be a subscriber to The Telegraph.  I had you down as an intellectual with eclectic tastes.

Lets not forget Mark Williams Thomas and Susan Penhaligon. There are a few but as I said, in the grand scheme of things - not that many. He may have lost a few when he lies about only writing to CAL 3 or 4 times.

The thread was really set up to discuss those who knew JB pre murders and had something positive to say about him.

Those I mentioned MT and AH and those you've mentioned above did not know JB pre murders.

So they don't count then.

He didn't know him, Holly. He just took Nevill's word for it. Presumably he trusted Nevill to know. We can all make mistakes.

Caroline he was a chartered surveyor.  His opinions are as important as other professionals and people rely on the advice to make decisions.  He recommended to the trustees of WHF that JB was suitable to take over the tenancy of WHF.  Why would he give this advice if it was unsuitable?

Not if the criteria is those who knew JB pre murders.

It wasn't actually me who wrote the post you replied to but the guy took Nevill's word for it - he obviously respected Nevill - not Jeremy.

ust just add, that just because someone has qualifications, it doesn't make them a good judge of character.

Ooops sorry, I do tend to switch off come 9/10

He said he told David Goldsmith, who represented the landlords, that in his opinion JB was suitable to take over the tenancy of WHF.  As it happened JB did not take over the tenancy but had he done what would have happened if JB made a pigs ear of it?

He would not have committed to the advice he gave unless he was sure in his own mind JB was competent which would have been based on more than an off the cuff comment from NB about being pleased with the way JB was shaping up.

I agree but it wasn't about JB's character it was about George Nicholls' professional opinion that JB was competent to take over the tenancy of WHF.
