Holly, the Statesman photo you posted above is a screenshot taken from Episode 4 of the ITV 'White House Farm' series, which is why I prefaced my original with 'ITV WHF...' as I do with all the screenshots taken from the series.

Similarly, the other screenshots of the grubby bedside cabinet/table where it appears the rotary-dial phone had been positioned, and the one of Stan Jones (Mark Addy) replacing the phone, are screenshots from the same episode.  So not the actual original phones or bedside cabinet, although the Type 746 and Statesman in the series are real enough, probably from the ITV props department or bought in specially for the series.

Sorry for the confusion.

As an aside, a reproduction of the 746 is currently being sold by Argos with simplified internal mechanism and modern electronics...

Awww thanks Myster I must have missed your post.  I didn't recognise the image Spy presented so was sceptical about it being an authentic WHF image.

It was only Jean Bouttell who used the term 'fawn'. There was no 'fawn' Statesman phone - it didn't come in that colour.

The engineer never said the kitchen telephone was fawn; he wrote “CREAM”

He never said it was a ROTARY, which he most certainly would have done
