What did the platoon leader say about LM and knives?

‘"They were on parade at the end of the evening and I saw one cadet pass something to Luke. I asked Luke, 'What is that?' He removed the knife from his pocket and handed it to me.

"I opened the knife. It was about six or seven inches long, a lock- type knife with a pointed blade," said Mr Muraska. "I held it up so all the cadets could see. I said that I never, ever wanted to see a knife like that in the Army Cadet Force...there was no place for a knife like that...a knife such as that was made for one purpose and one purpose only.

"A young cadet said, 'Killing' and I said, 'Yes, exactly.' I said I doubted the legality of such a knife and that carrying such a knife was probably totally illegal."

Mr Muraska said he had to give back the knife to Mitchell. In the past, knives would be confiscated and destroyed, but a policeman ha.... ......ointed out that such action was theft.’

Thanks - that confirms that LM was in the habit of carrying knives, and that he had a knife at a cadet meeting.

Another unlucky coincidence for Luke that the incident Kara is apparently lying about has been partly corroborated by scout leader Matthew Muraska testifying in court that Luke did indeed smuggle a knife into cadets, the location of the alleged attack. Luke has to be the unluckiest guy in the world, lol.

The amount of people Sandra is asking us to believe are lying for no apparent reason borders on the ridiculous.

The entire cadet force should have known about the incident but the platoon leader, when he appeared in court, was never asked about it, even though his evidence was about Luke and knives. That speaks volumes to me.

do you know that with certianty? beyond the tiny snippets we occasionaly get in press, i dont think theres any way anyone who wasnt at court or doesnt have the transcripts could say what was asked of him with certainty

It has always been that way though, she is always right and everyone else is wrong. She's a "leading criminologist" mind you if her Facebook bio is anything to go by.

I hasten to add that she hasn't got anyone out of jail yet.

I’m afraid it doesn’t. We don’t know who the knife belonged to, Luke or the boy who gave it to him.

Further even if it was Luke’s, that the boy had the knife proves he was to some degree interested in knives too so proves Luke’s interest wasn’t such an aberration within his pier group.

.

If the platoon leader had been asked about the incident then it would be absolutely ridiculous to think that the girl wouldn’t have been called as a witness too. I’m sure the jury would also find it strange.

Irrelevant.  The issue is whether or not Mitchell was into knives and carried them.  The evidence seems overwhelming that he was and he did.

True.  Carrying a knife is one thing, putting it to a girls throat is a whole different ballgame.

The bit that still mystifies me though is why. Why did Jodi's killer mutilate her to the extent she was almost decapitated?
