Terrible news so many people including kiddies have been killed. The town of Moore was devastated in 99.... you do wonder how a school there didn't have tornado proof shelters for the kids.

I can't imagine what it's like to experience a strong tornado. Glad to hear the death toll has been revised down from 'at least' 91 to 24.

The kids (I'm sure they're getting younger) who they send to enlist people! We've got 2 young 'un s from Utah at present. They've just opened a new ward full of Slovaks (in Sheffield-so we have 4 wards now) and we've got sister missionaries from the area to help them, apparently they haven't had sister missionaries for a long time and they're only just getting bibles and other stuff printed on slovak and slovsencina etc, they've not had freedom of religion before.
I'm not the best advert for the church at the moment

There has been some controversy about people having difficulty leaving if they find it's not suitable for them... i.e. having to put up with visits from elders who try to dissuade them, or having a long wait for replies or no response at all to resignation letters. Sounds like their trying to massage the figures to show the church is growing in membership, and not faltering.

Arias' mitigation statement was appalling .... 'and here's another picture of me'! I can't see anyway on earth the jurors won't give her the death penalty; especially as sympathy is not to be considered by the jury!

Although I would prefer her to get life w.p., as a juror I would have to vote for death.

What sentence would you give her Red? I change my mind quite a bit on that. I am certain (imho) the jury will give her death very quickly.

Darryl Brewer didn't get his chance to shine either, but in the latest TV interview (caused by Nurmi's antics in not calling for any witness support at all) he was very persuasive... Brewer might just have swayed the jury away from the death penalty had he taken the stand; that is if they haven't had a sneaky look at it already.

Despite all, I think the jurors will opt for life w/o parole. They may feel that she's untypical of your average trailer-trash criminal, being lower-middle, reasonably intelligent & articulate and able to contribute something to society from behind bars whatever that entails, in the way that say, Wuornos never did.

I would have pressed the execute button when she brought out that 'Survivor' t~shirt; there is no way she was ever a battered woman and TA certainly never broke her finger in Jan. 08. I dislocated my finger about the same time and it was heavily bruised; besides medical reports I could probably get 25 people who witnessed the damage. Her finger was supposedly broken and yet there isn't one iota of evidence. Lying bitch.

Travis did call her some nasty names and he may even have slapped her once or twice when her stalking became too intrusive. I might even slap my ex if she entered my house uninvited and hid under the christmas tree! Nothing Travis did even remotely excuses her premeditated murder. The brass neck of that s...k showing that t~shirt when Travis pointedly did not survive!

I can't see her avoiding the DP ..... evidently many of the jurors were crying when the siblings gave their impact statements.  I really don't think her family slideshow and plans for recycling will weigh against Stephen saying "I don't want to see the face of my brother's murderer anymore"! I will be very surprised if she 'only' gets life!
