It took a while for the police to conclude that Claudia Lawrence had been taken and murdered because there was no evidence suggesting what had happened to her. She was eventually assumed to have been taken from the street on her way to work on 19 March 2009. Given all the circumstances that's the theory which seems to fit. It's logical and plausible because there's not really another possibility.

In Madeleine McCann's case there are other possibilities and although abduction is one of them so is woke and wandered followed by accidental death or abduction from outside the apartment. The alleged open window and shutters could have been due to attempted burglary, and the noise could have woken the child and caused her to flee in panic to find her parents. That was possible because they had left the patio doors unlocked for that purpose, according to her mother.

If the window and shutters were open due to a burglary attempt then they are nothing to do with a planned abduction. The lack of any evidence of a stranger in the apartment supports that theory.

So although abduction is possible, it isn't the only possibility and imo there's not enough evidence to judge if it's logical; certainly not the only logical possibility.
What do you mean by “not enough evidence to judge if it’s logical”?   it seems to me you want abduction to have been proven before you will concede it is both logical and plausible.  As it stands you have made the claim that it is neither.  Based on what exactly?  A lack of evidence?  That in itself is not logical imo.  Something had to have happened to the child, and whislt abduction might not be your preferred explanation, surely it is plausible given everything we know.  I mean by your criteria of “not enough evidence to judge if it’s logical” then neither is parental involvement or woke and wandered, so are all possible explanations equally implausible and illogical in your view?

You have actually described what I have said  for some years.. Abduction is by far the most likely option based on elimination of the other options.

The parents are not considered to be involved by the present investigation which leavrs woke and wandered and abduction. Woke and wandered is unlikely unless maddie closed all the doors behind her.. So abduction is the most likely. We are now in a position where Wolters says he has concrete evidence of abduction.. Its time to wake up and smell the coffee

If you dismiss Madeleine was abducted ~ exactly what do you think happened to her.

I haven't dismissed any of the possibilities, and I can see no reason to chose any one of them as the definite answer to her disappearance.

When you said that abduction was neither logical nor plausible in your view that was dismissing it.  Please now accept you were wrong to say it, as you are clearly backtracking.

Its not a matter of being definite ... Its  whats most likely

We only have Kate's word that she found the gate, child gate & patio doors closed.

I don't think other options have been eliminated. The PJ suspected her parents, but were unable to find evidence to charge them. That doesn't amount to eliminating them. An older child who could open doors and child gates would have been likely to have been trained to close doors and gates behind her to keep her younger siblings safe, so it wouldn't have been surprising had she done that. There's also a statement saying that the patio doors were left unlocked so she could get out.

We only have Kate's word that she found the gate, child gate & patio doors closed.

That's true, and she seemed to get confused about whether the curtains in the children's bedroom were open or closed, so we can't be sure about her remembrance of the state of the gates and doors.

As there is a lack  of evidence of parental involvement or woke and wandered we can (using your logic) dismiss both theories as illogical and implausible.

What do you describe as being "possibilities".
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

There's no evidence of abduction either.

Maybe it's semantics but possible is one thing.... you don't need more than an educated guess to ascertain if something is possible.... but "plausible" tends to carry more weight. You are talking about something that was not only possible but probable. Death in the apartment, woke and wondered and abduction are all possible scenarios. To give an answer on  the plausibility of these scenarios you have to assess the evidence. So far I have not seen enough evidence to suggest an abduction was the probable scenario. Stranger abduction is very rare so with little direct evidence to support it I have no idea how you arrive at this being the probable explanation.

Not all the doors! In this scenario she didn't close the bedroom window.... also she was known to wake and wonder.... could she have climbed up to the lounge window and then fell off the narrow sill, for example?

LOL, there is a big difference between plausible and probable.  Not once have I used the word probable and I am not asking you to consider abduction is probable, only plausible which is something no sceptic will ever admit to.   It’s plausible Claudia Lawrence was abducted despite there being no evidence of said crime, but not plausible that Madeleine was?  No one has been able to explain why not imo.
