Madeleine was a ward of court. She hadn't been returned to the UK from Portugal. What action should have been taken by the court in the absence of evidence of her death?

What action was/is available to the High Court?

There is now. There wasn't when OG was launched.

So we were told two and a half years ago, but the lack of criminal charges suggests they are unable to link her death to their suspect.

The point of the thread is that sceptics see it as some kind of conspiracy that SY have not investigated....or interviewed the mccanns under caution when the facts is they do not have the jursdiction to do say. Any investgation would be illegal

Not if they called it murder like the Germans did.

I'm not sure. It's a specialist area in law and there wouldn't be much point in making a missing child ward of court if the court don't have higher powers.
The point I was trying to make is that there are limitations to extraterritorial jurisdiction and there was no evidence Madeleine had been sexually abused or murdered. In the absence of confirmation of another type of crime the only legally permitted & justified course of action for SY was to investigate stranger abduction. SY would be treading on PJ's toes if they investigated parental involvement. IMO.

I believe Brueckner only came to the attention of OG when his criminal compadre asked to speak to them after he was arrested in Greece for people trafficking, some 6 years after the founding of the British investigation. If this hadn’t happened who knows if Brueckner would ever have come to Britain’s Finest’s attention.
This ‘criminal compadre’ may well have valuable information re. CB’s involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance.

So do you think murder committed by the McCanns would have been a valid investigative avenue for the police to have taken?

There is no evidence, other than the word of a convicted criminal, that Brueckner ever confessed. There is with the Cipriano abomination.

There’s your difference.
How do you know that? The ‘convicted criminal’ could be a key witness, currently in witness protection.

You make me laugh. Not.

It's funny you should say that, because I literally laughed out loud your suggestion Busching could have valuable information of CB's involvement. Tell me another.

So the ideas you are offering are based on opinion and guesswork.

Yes, I'm going to look a bit stupid when Wolters reveals the concrete evidence. Shouldn't be much longer now.

This ‘criminal compadre’ may well have valuable information re. CB’s involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance.

Or there again maybe not. Dated Oct 2022.

The Federal Criminal Police Office and the Braunschweig public prosecutor ask for your help:

Can you provide information on the vehicles used by the suspect, or did you see them at the beginning of May 2007, or do you know where they were parked during the period mentioned?
Can you provide information on the phone numbers mentioned and their users in May 2007?
Can you provide information about the houses, rooms or other points of interest shown?
Were you in the Algarve at the beginning of May 2007 and do you still have any photo material such as vacation photos or videos?
Were you in contact with a person who was connected to the vehicles, buildings and telephone numbers shown and can you provide information on their whereabouts at the beginning of May 2007?
Have you yourself been the victim of a crime by this person?
Furthermore, there is reason to assume that, in addition to the perpetrator himself, there are other people who have specific knowledge of the possible course of events and, if applicable, where the corpse was deposited. We expressly ask these people to get in touch and share their knowledge.

He’s not.

His word is not only tainted by the circumstances in which he gave the police the information but also by the copious amount of, paid, interviews he has given to the tabloids.

Brietta posted on 10/04/2022 “But whether or not that is the reason behind the delay I am certain that Brueckner's trial is going to take place.”

Let’s count the months, shall we?
