Perhaps you don’t understand what the phrase means.

the benefit of the doubt
noun phrase
: the state of accepting something/someone as honest or deserving of trust even though there are doubts.

I have obviously considered the possibility that CB was not involved.  What makes you think I am certain that he was?

You are prepared to give Wolters the benefit of the doubt despite the fact that you have no reason to do so except his words, and he has contradicted himself. A retired Met detective has given his opinion;

Mr Bleksley said: “My concern is this is going to end up being one of the great unsolved crime mysteries. I don’t share Wolters’ optimism. I think he should put up or shut up. If you’ve got the evidence, stick him on the sheet, as we used to say.”

I don’t have to give a reason for doing so beyond the fact that I am not in full possession of all the evidence.  You are in a similar position to me yet you apparently won’t give him the benefit of the doubt, what’s your reason for not doing so?

The prosecution doesn't get the benefit of the doubt. That a right that always belongs to the defendant.
So Brueckner wins. Well done Brueckner.

You have never been in full possession of all the evidence, but have always chosen to support the parents imo.

Why are you unable to answer my question?  I have always given the parents the benefit of the doubt.

Well, if I'm wrong, then get back to me when Wolters reveals the concrete evidence & Brueckner is prosecuted, won't you dearie.
Shouldn't be much longer now.

Do you even know what concrete evidence is?  It seems not.

"It is concrete evidence,

facts that we have,

not mere indications,"

Brunswick prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters told AFP, adding that he was unable to disclose exact information.

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Apart from Boney M, Milli Vanilli, Rammstein, Scorpions, all the Krautrock bands, loads of dance acts, and let’s not forget Nena and the Goombay Dance Band.  Oh and Falco.

Not forgetting KRAFTWERK and other German bands of the era who were leading lights in electronic music.

Just because one can lay claim to residence in another country doesn't make one an 'expert'.

Interesting that the disappearance of Joanna Cipriano has been mentioned in this article.

Also this;

Wolters said German authorities have written to Madeleine's family, but declined to give details of the content of the letter.

That being the letter that the family denied receiving if I remember correctly. Still, perhaps we should give Wolters the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he was told a letter had been written, and maybe he was told there was concrete evidence. Are we shooting the messenger? Perhaps.

Any investigation worth its salt would have paired both disappearances as soon as Madeleine disappeared.

Clutching at straws again.

Perhaps we should remember that we aren't The Prosecution or The Defence.

I did.  Less than three years apart and some seven kilometre.  Daft not to.
