I don't know why it matters, but Jeremy Wilkins made three statements. In two of them he mentioned being near the gate and the stairs. He adds a precise measurement when he says he was 5 meters north of the passage. The gate is 6 meters north of the passage.
His rogatory statement was less detailed because he had been allowed to read his previous statements where the detail was and also his memory was less fresh as he said. Jane Tanner was more concerned in her statements to defend her belief that the men were on the same side of the road as she was, but her sketch puts them north of the passage.
So we have a badly drawn sketch and a vague rogatory statement against two detailed statements and a well drawn sketch. My conclusion is that Wilkins' earlier statements are likely to be more accurate. There is certainly no way it can be 'proved' that the men met level with the entry to the passage.
I met him near the stairs of a ground floor. There was a gate leading up to some stairs. I was pretty certain that he had left the apartment.

near to the gate and Jeremy facing him. Rua Dr Agostino was about 10-15 meters to his right and the pathway leading to the front of the apartment blocks about
5 meters to his lefthttp://www.mccannpjfiles.co.uk/PJ/JEREMY_BRIGET.htmWhen I left the street, I remember seeing Gerry on the other side of the same. I believe that there was some speculation in the press regarding the circumstances of this encounter. I remember that I crossed the street to talk to Gerry. According to what I remember, Gerry was walking when I spotted him.
