Of course there was evidence, don’t be so silly.  For one, there were 5 separate cases tried and in one of them CB (a convicted paedo) was literally caught pants down, todger out in a children’s playground with kids in it.  You don’t think there was enough evidence there to convict for at the very least indecent exposure?  I’m not cringing for HCW brcsuse unlike you I can’t summon up enough emotion to feel very much at all about the man. It's the Convenient Hobo fallacy. There will probably be another one 'found' when this latest one is exonerated or dies in dubious circumstances (not under a tractor again, though).

He's been chasing his dream. Why did he prosecute these cases?

I doubt it’s a dream of his and I very much doubt he acted alone without any consultation with colleagues and superiors.  Why does any case go to trial?  Obviously in the hope of securing a conviction and keeping bad people off the streets, sometimes trials end in a not guilty verdict, even when it seems mystifying that they have (I know you’re not mystified by it, but I am surprised at least one or two of those charges didn’t result in a conviction).

No, at least one child testified that he was caught masturbating in a playground but the judge in her infinite wisdom decided he was peeing instead (she must have been there) and apparently it is perfectly legal now to pee in front of other peoples’ kids, in public.  Who knew?
