McCanns TV Interviews Today
« on: May 01, 2013, 11:31:23 PM »
To me the McCanns seemed very positive, upbeat and relaxed in their TV interviews today - they seemed especially pleased with the way  the Scotland Yard review is going.  So, a question for the "sceptics" - do you think the McCanns are just really good actors, or when you watched the interviews did you see a couple ridden with guilt, nervously awaiting the SY dawn raid any day now?

I don't know what to think Martha

Certainly, the McCanns appear relaxed and confident.  Gerry McCann even said, very recently, that Scotland Yard would appeal for the public's help when they were ready  ...  which implies he knows exactly what to expect with regard to the review, and is happy with it

Then again,  we know the McCanns are capable of deception in this regard

For example,  on August the 8th 2007 they were both interogated by the police.  It was a traumatic encounter for them both, and was their first realisation that the the investigation was now directed at them. They were confronted, for the first time with the dogs' evidence and told that the police no longer believed their  version of events.  Kate was, in her own words, hysterical and sobbing ...  whilst Gerry was in tears, visibly upset and shaken.  Family were flown in a short while later, and the evening was difficult with several phone calls made in search of help and advice.

The next morning,  having had very little sleep,  the McCanns hosted the many  interviews they had scheduled to mark the hundredth day since Madeleine disappeared

They were  'up-beat'  and 'positive'  then too,  as I recall

So as I say,  I don't know what to think ...  I really don't

It think this is the excellent interview on Sky that you are referring to.

I have no idea why you are heaving (Did you not prepare your dinner carefully or have you drunk something which has disagreed with you?). Nor do I understand why you are claiming that you don't believe them.

Clearly your view is not widely held by those in the media.  The many articles over the last week in all the media have been very supportive of the couple in their search for their daughter.

Are there any statements in the files relating to these interrogations you claim took place on 8th August 2007?

Or were these interrogations not recorded in statement form?

They were, privately, devastated by the events of the night before,  but put on a positive  'front' for the cameras

Maybe deceptive is the wrong word though,  maybe I should have said they have proven themselves capeable of hiding their true emotions

There is nothing about the August 8th interrogations available  in the police files that I am aware of

The account  I gave was Kate McCann's own recollection, as given in her book

I didn't see any sycophancy or sensitivity even as is the norm on many of these shows, I got the impression Adam Boulton was being as cynical with them as he is with his political interviewees, JMHO

I thought they gave an excellent and honest interview.  The suggestion that British tourists carry posters abroad with them is a great idea.  You can download them for free too.

SIX YEARS. I don't think we are the only ones who find this hard to believe.

It's difficult to know what to write as each year passes, still without news of Madeleine. In many ways, nothing's changed. We still worry about her, we miss her as much as we ever did, we remain as determined as ever to find her and to know what has happened.

The one thing that has progressed significantly over the last year is the work of the Metropolitan Police. We remain greatly encouraged by their work and the many things they have managed to uncover so far. Their commitment and increasing determination parallels our own and brings us great comfort and reassurance. We continue to hope and pray that the Met working with the Portuguese Authorities will lead to a significant breakthrough. We need to find Madeleine and bring some peace to our family.
In the early days, Gerry remarked that we weren't sure whether this journey would be a sprint or a marathon. It's been much, much more than a marathon (I'm qualified to say that now!) We really appreciate how lucky we have been to be surrounded by such fabulous support for so long. Thank you to all our supporters for being there alongside us and for never forgetting about Madeleine. We're here for the long haul, for as long as it takes. Thank you for being there too.

And finally, a special 'thank you' to everybody who sponsored me to run the London marathon recently. Your kind donations, which have now amounted to more than £21,000 (fantastic!) will allow the charity, Missing People, to continue the search for many missing children and vulnerable adults, as well as provide essential support for their families. Your compassion and generosity will help to ease the suffering of many people. Thank you.

Seems not gilet, nor for the 6th August,  At the PJ's request Gerry went of to meet them in a cafe, in Portimao.
While he was in there, his car was impounded for forensic testing. The PJ drove him back to the apartment.
So who drove that car from the cafe, to the underground multi storey car park at Portimao. and where was it till it was tested?
