Truthi is very truthful. She heard it alright.
SY told me that this case was the biggest in the World. I guess they meant number of officers, time taken, money spent, world interest? .... dunno
I wonder if like in the Jimmy Savile case, they are looking at a broader spectrum? In this case including not only the abductor and associates but also including child / slave trafficking and maybe drug trafficking. I have no reason for wondering this, apart from PT being a major destination of major drug routes.
I forget the figures now, but they have a very high percentage of all the drugs worldwide coming thru their borders en route for the rest of Europe. Both of the cannabis type from the nearby Rif mountains in Northern Morocco, and of the hemp kind coming from IIRC. S America especially, I posted the figures on pfa2, now sadly gone.
Of course, the Portuguese were brilliant navigators and seamen. They were amongst the first to visit S America and Africa. Our own Scots and Brits were pretty good seamen as well, they were not innocent, certainly of slave trading
If you visit Liverpool docks, there is a slave trading museum there. Well worth a visit if you are able.
Gawd, I have diversified. Sorry.
