Show me the actual evidence.

Whats wrong with doing that Faith?

The evidence is there for anyone who can read so can we please stop this now. You are far to long in the tooth to be playing such silly games.

If they were transparent then the exact amount of fund money used for the litigation would be detailed.

I must agree with you faith.   The McCanns went into this fund lark promising total transparency which as we all now know never materialised.   Money which was donated by the public to help find Madeleine has been squandered on all sorts of fiascos involving fraudsters and charlatans.  No wonder they want to keep the finances secret.

De troothe has the annoying habit of coming to the surface just when you least expect it!!

You don't seem to see them as the victims Angelo -  do you think they deliberately got scammed?  I would imagine the McCanns had about as much knowledge and experience of PI's as most of the the rest of us - i.e. zilch.  They would have no choice but to take the advice and direction of others who were more experienced in that field and that would inevitably involve a large degree of trust on their part - as it would with anyone.

As you will know the whole raison d'etre of a 'con artist' is to convince their intended victims that they are the nicest, most honest, genuine, trustworthy person in the world.   Then they rob them.   There are loads of progs. on TV about their innocent victims who were taken in because these people had gained their trust - well that's what they do don't they - set out to gain people's trust?

IMO there is no doubt that McCanns are victims, exactly the same as all other victims of [moderated]s -  and yet I get the distinct impression that the McCanns personally are going to be blamed for all this.

Maybe I'm wrong.   I hope so.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

The McCanns were very well advised though on the law consulting topic. They got a lot of money (for the Fund) and Mr Bennett was finally forced to stop his ludicrous obsession of neglect. The striking contrast between this professional support and their being crooked by charlatans has been underlined many times.

All I am asking is that you please post the page.

Cos if you are right, you will get kudos. However it will also prove that the Funds accounting is transparent.

Why in heavens name would I be looking for kudos ? The links to the relevant pages have been posted, all you need to do is open them.

As I have already said, if the accounts were transparent then we'd know exactly how much had been spent on the litigation in Portugal, unfortunately that's not the case.

I'm afraid the only thing that is becoming transparent is your inability to face the truth.

They seemingly think that stating something is sufficient, no use to behave according to their statements. It would gain them supporters if finally they decided to turn the accounts public (which they legally don't have to). The fact they trusted charlatans doesn't serve their image of clever people, but the opacity of the Fund makes one wonder what real use is made of the money.

Why is no mention ever made of the hundreds of thousands of £s put into the fund by the McCanns and also their friends.   None of them needed to do that.   The compensation money, the profits from the book, could all have gone into personal private accounts if they had chosen to do that.  But none of them did.    That doesn't sound like people who are 'in it for the money' to me.

I'm amazed how Sceptics always miss that very large elephant in the room.

Excellent point!  The Express Group payouts would have been around £900K? it could be very well this money that was used to pay for the litigation in Portugal, although of course at the end of the day it is no-one's business but Kate and Gerry McCanns.

Why?

He had funds from Bennett, Morais, Paypal account, towards his legal costs
So why shouldn't his be tranparent?.

One rule for McCann's, I see!

Perhaps he simply inspires trust in a way that the McCanns don't ?

Precisely, DCI.  When are we going to see these accounts? And whilst we are on the subject, when are accounts for GASP, COLD and the Madeleine Foundation going to be made public?
