Talk about stating the obvious - EVERYBODY is either dead or not dead!

Madeleine is missing; it is not known whether she is alive or dead, but because it cannot be ascertained that she is dead, it is absolutely imperative, both morally and legally, that she be considered to be still alive, and therefore the search for her MUST continue, hence the ongoing publicity efforts of her parents.

Yes, but it was dead or FINE! They honestly think Jaycee Dugard, Natasha Kampusch, Michel, Gina & Amanda etc etc were FINE with being held captives against their wills for all those years? Mind boggling....

Yes, thanks for rectifying, Mrs. B. "Fine" means developing harmoniously her potentialities and getting the love necessary for it.
Jaycee and Natasha, though theses cases are very different, were old enough for resilience. Even so these two girls have strong personalities and what they achieved is rather admirable. Madeleine was too young, however "special" she was, she would never have resisted to bad treatments.

Very wise to down scale it whilst SY are looking at the case, imo.  They do not want Madeleine moved on, if SY think they are on to something ... do they?  Or the trail might go dead again

That's why I was astonished at the story in the press about the British cleaners the police were apparently hunting

Why  would that kind of information be made public  ?   ...  why give the heads-up to these cleaners that the police suspected  them  ? 

Where did that story come from anyway.  Was it an official statement from Scotland Yard  ...  or did it come from a different  'source'  ?

My best guess is that the papers speculated and ran with old stories...you always get leaks though, so who knows, and as far as I remember no SY member has been named or quoted as giving such stories

Could be the media spreading tales or could be red herrings on SY's behalf (for a change)

From talking to them, whilst they didn't actually say it, I gathered that their path had encountered many red herrings

i.e  If the obvious signs are to look that-away, then think disinformation ... and look in the opposite direction ... or two removed and round the corner, sort of thing. 



It is exactly what I have encountered, but I caught on fast and found my own highly unusual route thru the maze.
