Were the previous burglaries at Ocean Club Garden related to the abduction?

How do we know there was no evidence left by the abductor, after the crime scene had been utterly contaminated by everyone running around & then the dogs let lose in the apartment? There could have been residual DNA left on a variety of items, such as the Cuddlecat, Madeleine's bedding, etc, etc. Unfortunately, nobody took these items away & tested them. The only sampling with regards to DNA was AFTER the dogs had been brought in, by which time the apartment had already been rented out FOUR times. There could have been loads, we'll just never know now.

I presume she would have been responsible for all keys! Was she asked where they were kept, and checked?

Because quite simply Blossom dear they failed to provide proper security at the complex knowing bloody well how many times they had already been hit.

That for me spells neglect and incompetence.  Had the McCanns been told of the previous break-ins they would have ensured their apartment was secure and Maddie might still be with them today.

Well, it isn't in her PJ statement as she obviously wasn't ASKED about the details of the attempted break-in.

It is as relevant as any other tabloid story, I guess. I can't see why any reporter would make up a that story.

He had entered via the front door using a key obviously, when Mrs Fenn and IIRC her neice arrived back.  THey saw him in the flat.  The way out throught the door was blocked, so the only escape route was via the window and a high jump down
