Well if Gerry meant his house it would have been one relative and he said 'relatives'.   So I don't think he meant that.

It was more than likely he meant leaving them at a relatives house.

It could just as easily be that Gerry was on shift duty and Kate went off to see friends.

I havent read this for a while but can someone tell me how two doctors carried on with full time careers with three children under the age of 4 without farming them out to minders?  Sort of puts the babysitter issue in the shade what?
