No just Madeleine, sorry! I think you'll find.

She said: "When she was two, Madeleine spent Christmas at my house and it was lovely.

"The next year, the family came up for New Year but on Christmas Day Madeleine called and said she'd got a kitchen from Santa. She was very excited and said 'I'm going to make some tea'."

Are you really so limited in your understanding of the written word ? Madeleine's gran was talking specifically about her memories of Madelene, that's why she only mentions Madeleine. It doesn't mean that the rest of the family weren't there too. It would be very cruel parents who would send one of their children away, while keeping her siblings at home.

Faith, sorry but you have lost that argument.

From the written word, it is clear that only Madeleine stayed with her Gran.

And pls stop saying silly things like the parents being cruel in such circumstances.  Madeleine would have been very excited to go, and the twins were young enough not to worry.  Kate and Gerry being such "hands on" parents, they probably had some treat for the twins in store.

That's what I used to do.
When my little boy went to stay with Gran, then my little girl had special treatment.  Both happy and Mum de-stressed at the same time.

Not easy with two extremely lively little one less than 18 months apart, but fabulous fun.  Great times.

Must be difficult with 3 little ones so close in age.  Fortunately, Gerry seemed to take his share ... and to enjoy it.

You took the words right out of my mouth Sadie.

I did the same,  so I must be a nasty cruel parent.

At 10 months old the twins wouldn't care at all.   Madeleine would be made to feel special and a big girl going to stay with her Nan.

Your attempt at trying to make the McCann's into nasty cruel parents who were eager to get shot of their eldest daughter,  is failing miserably Faithfully.

It makes me sad to look at the photos of the McCann's before Madeleine disappeared.    They look so happy.

Read my post correctly Lace. I don't think the McCanns were cruel parents, selfish perhaps but not cruel, because i don't think Madeleine stayed, alone, at her gran's over Christmas

A child being sent to her grandparents at the weekend for a treat I can absolutely understand, especially with two small babies in the house and her parents attention diverted elsewhere but we are talking about Christmas, the twins first Christmas, when Madeleine would, no doubt have delighted in showing her younger siblings how their toys worked etc. Imagine how she would have felt not to be part of that, to be sent away from her parents and siblings at one of the most important family times of the year ? A cruel thing to do, I'm sure you'll agree, if it had happened.

There are 12 days of Christmas,  does she say she went on Christmas Day?

It wouldn't enter your head, would it?, to think it could also been as much of a treat for her Gran, when she had just lost her husband in May 2005. I'm sure Madeleine would have had the time of her life, staying with her gran, and being spoilt rotten. Nor was she dumped, like you insinuate!
She idolises Madeleine, like they all do.

My kids must be cruel parents, leaving their kids to stay with us, for weekends, and holiday's. Its what MOST grandparents love to do. But I class us as a normal caring grandparents. I take it you haven't got children, and your parents aren't grandparents? Or you would know what that bond is like.

Weekends and holidays absolutely, but this was Christmas, their first as a family of five. Imagine how pushed out Madeleine would have felt ?  I don't believe the McCanns would have done that to their daughter and I don't believe for one minute she was sent to her grans alone. From the comment, and the one that follows, I believe Eileen mentioned  Madeleine particularly because she was the subject of the article, I think it is an embellishment on your part to assume the rest of her family weren't with her.

All this to explain away the fact that Gerry was dishonest in his statement. Would an honest person really need this contortion of the facts ?

Who said she was sent to her grans, alone? Thats just stupid, and another way of saying the McCann's palmed her off. I'd expect one of Gerry's family would have fetched her, even Eileen herself. If Madeleine had felt pushed out she would't have wanted to go, or stay.
Of course you think it is an embellishment on my part , it doesn't fit with what you want, it to say.

I think its more likely a dishonest person who wrote Gerry's statement, to fit Amarals theory.

Question for Sadie.   If it was as you described then why was there a suggestion by the PJ that Kate couldn't cope thus why there was talk of having some of the children cared for by another family member?  Was it Kate herself who mentioned this whilst being interviewed informally?

Of course I didn't mean Madeleine travelled to Glasgow alone, that is simply absurd.

As to your interpretation, it simply des not fit with the wording of the article.

'A dishonest person who wrote Gerry's statement.' How ? The original is there for all to see, signed by Gerry. So who, in your opinion was dishonest, not Amaral because he wasn't there at the questioning so who ? The translator ? And why manipulate an innocuous, at the time, answer of Gerry's but leave the part in which they tell Gerry they have a match to Madelein's DNA, in ?

Do you have a link to your statement, re kate saying that, Angelo?

The only one who tried to make that true was, whoever put the question to Gerry. Gerry didn't actually make that statement, it was all done as another way to try and fit Kate up. Shame she coped enough to tell the PJ where to stick the confession threat!

You really should read up on things yourself Angelo, and not just post hearsay!

Had you bothered to read my post it asked two questions.  It did not contain hearsay.

You obviously missed the point.  Someone must have given Mr Amaral the thought that Kate couldn't cope.  He didn't just pluck it out of thin air.
