Ruined a policeman's career?  I think he left the PJ of his own accord.
Ruined his reputation?  I think he did that before the McCanns even set foot in PT.

I think there are plenty of court judgements to prove Goncalo Amaral committed fraud against his own brother.  And there is a court judgement where the letters written by his wife, Sofia Leal who was frightened for her daughter's safety, were authenticated in court.  Not forgetting his conviction for perjury by falsifying testimony.

But one thing has become abundantly clear by the supporters of Goncalo Amaral, this IS NOT about Madeleine McCann.  This is NOT about giving Madeleine the right to life.  This is NOT about classing a missing child as missing and NOT deceased.

Point taken. An anti-McCann post like this proves it's about GA and NOT Madeleine McCann.

i dont  think the BBC  did  issue  a apology to him i could  be  wrong     and yes i mean the  disgraced cop name    why was he   a disgrace because he had  his own opinion  police officers all have  diffrent opinions its part of their job

Yes policemen do have opinions but they also keep an open mind.  Something it seems Goncalo Amaral was not capable of.

A local crime reporter, who knows the Portuguese police intimately, said that Amaral remains very well-respected among his former brethren, several of whom appeared in Lisbon to support him.

'He was a copper's copper. The only criticism or doubt I have heard about him is that he may not be an open-minded policeman.

no one is putting  GA    above  maddie it  was a  simple  ??    this case has  ripped  apart many  lives including  GA  and his daughters are  you  saying     that his daughter  deserved to be caught in the middle of a divorce  probably  caused by the stress of this case??   police work doesnt    stay at work they bring it  home with them

I said "disgraced cop", not "a disgrace".  He is a disgraced cop because he has a conviction for perjury.  Did you not know about that, carlymichelle?
