Maybe it has to do with the fact that the parents are suing a television station in Portugal.

How would that affect the other broadcasters?

From Kate's book  :

Despite the horror of the situation, some sense of the necessity to approach the crisis calmy and methodically appeared to kick in among our friends as they tried to exert a modicum of control over the chaos.  What could be done ?  What should be done ?  Aware that we were only an hour and a quarter's drive from southern Spain,  and beyond that lay the borderless continent of Europe  -  not to mention the short hop across the Straight of Gibralter to north Africa  -  David was saying,  "We need roadblocks set up.  The borders to Spain,  Morocco and Algiers need to be alerted"

So before the police had even arrived three countries had been flagged up ;

Spain,  Morocco,  Algiers

...  and the crimewatch show is targeting

Germany,  Holland,  and Ireland   ?     >@@(*&)

Algiers and Morocco would say "bog off" and Spain has more difficult problems of their own to deal with than those "look at me" parents.

That can't be right !   ...  a six million pound tax payer funded police investigation is being directed by the McCanns,  depending on  what they will, and will not  'allow'    ?

The Today programme on BBC Radio 4 have guest editors, perhaps Crimewatch does too.
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

Or maybe not -

OG have been pushed out by the Germans who have reserved all the deck chairs for the foreseeable future

Let's hope that someone is able to disclose a bit of the truth behind this Crimewatch marketing ploy.

Are you suggesting that Crimewatch (a long-standing collaborative effort between the UK police and the BBC) is a marketing ploy?

Are you suggesting that Luz is generalizing "this" Crimewatch marketing ploy to the Crimewatch institution ?

That Crimewatch is clearly sold McCann way. When did a crew of filmmakers be sent to another country because   some 2 odd characters decided it?! This is another Panorama like joke.

Your country hence your responsibility? I'm Welsh. I take no responsibility for what happened to little April Jones.

Oh well  said the xenophobic hysteria is laughable...as well as adding such pointless descriptions as innocent, what 3 year old child is not innocent, is it supposed to have some kind of effect?

Spain can't care less for this case, while trying to have their own house cleaned up, Morocco and Algiers have much more troubling problems to deal with. The Netherlands most probably will send them to pot tulips, Germany is not very sympathetic with the ever nagging UK,..in my opinion Beeb is just throwing the taxpayers money away to please Mr.&Mrs.

...  but not in Portugal, where the crime took place,  or in bordering Spain  ?

What is the logic in that ?

Have the Portuguese stations refused to show it

Have the Portuguese stations refused to show it

So rumour has it. Now that I find extremely odd, it's where Madeleine was taken from. Why on earth won't the TV station/s run it?

Perhaps the directors don't want it shown in Portugal and haven't offered it. Do we know?

I would have thought Crimewatch would want it shown wherever it could help solve the crime. But I don't know who makes the decision other countries or Crimewatch?  >@@(*&)
