...of their own stupidity!!

Do you think no other parent has ever done something stupid?  What about the parents who leave their children in the bath to drown.    You could say they were stupid - or you could say they were human and so make mistakes - which they will never stop regretting.

Quote from Kate

.......however unwittingly we'd given this predator an opportunity..  We had not been there for Madeleine. And, as I've said before and will say again, our guilt over that is a heavv cross we will bear for the rest of our lives.

Kate even said last night they look back and think  ''Why did we think it was OK?''

What more do people want Angelo?

Hindsight has 20/20 vision.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

Yes - and only for the millionth time too.        Actually you are wrong as we know that children have been taken whilst  there parents were 'there'.   We also know that the parents were there asleep in another room when British children were assaulted by an intruder in their beds in PT.   It's possible that those children could also have been abducted and their parents would not have known until it was too late.

This is an extract from a letter of complaint to the GNR written by one of the above parents.

It is difficult to see with this lack of investigation or interest how a profile of this man can be buillt up.  It did not appear to us that there was any great incentive or determination to find the offender and bring him to justice................Furthermore, it could all have been so much worse......indeed this man could go on to do much worse to another child if he's not stopped.

That letter was sent to the GNR six months before Madeleine was abducted'
You're spreading a myth, Benice, actually you go on spreading a urban legend, you are incapable to back with a serious source. How do you hope to find Madeleine with such a lack of rigour ?

I wouldn't say so, Angelo. They've been very smart in many things (they're two and have the same objective), like occupying the police's time with aberrant medium e-mails and witches' proposals (see what Ricardo Paiva says about that), like using subliminally the status of self proclaimed uncontroversial victims to intimidate those who dared to doubt their doxa.
All this of course would have been impossible without the involuntary help of the media.
Mr Redwood is investigating a criminal case with cameras, e-fits and hope of hundreds of denunciations ! We're really far from Prof Harrison MBE !
As I don't think the McCanns are stupid, I don't believe Madeleine asked where they were, etc. Even the way they report this episode doesn't sound a little girl's way of speaking.
I've a feeling that after years of story telling the abduction evening, which at the beginning had different versions but has since then been stabilized, they ended up believing it.

MADDIE  was the victim of their actions  they are not the victim

Not your victims either? I think they are.

Well as you know, I'm not entirely innocent,
So It will surprise you that even I have seen some things in various groups that I thought were going a bit too far.
But what can be deemed as 'grossly offensive'?
That which offends some people may have no impact or even amuse others.

That would be their opinion then, others may think differently & are entitled to that opinion.
So what can be deemed 'grossly offensive'?

You don't find heaping misery and insinuation on the parents of a missing child "grossly offensive"?

pros  seem to forget that the mcanns caused the situation that  madeline  found herself in ( their words not mine)

No, whoever took her did. How can you not see that? They might have left her, but they are not responsible for the actions of a third party.

Certainly. A nation behind them doesn't save them from tormentors, does it?

I said the nation's media is behind them, not the nation, though the nation is behind Madeleine naturally.

I really think you're exaggerating. They will be completely unaware we exist day in day out (except when it comes to interview time).

Except that good old Michael Wright, down at Skipton Central will be keeping them informed of internet traffic

We'll agree to disagree. They know you exist, right enough.

Ok, but it's not torment is it. Torment is losing your daughter. Questions being asked online (by a few) is reputation management - it doesn't compare at all to what happened six years ago does it.

If they hadnt of left madeleine she would still be here but if it was planned she still could have been snatched at some point .
Children which have been abducted have all been left alone in some way

It does, it's torment to heap further misery on the parents of a missing child.

It can't have been terribly well planned if the abductor walked through town carrying his victim! What if she'd woken and screamed?
