Great news !
Brietta posted on 10/04/2022 “But whether or not that is the reason behind the delay I am certain that Brueckner's trial is going to take place.”

Let’s count the months, shall we?

Great news !
As the Portuguese taxpayers, faced with a great number of cuts in the public expenses in particular in the NHS, have recently realised that two teams of police inspectors (in Faro and in O'Porto) were working for the benefit of the British (without counting the Portimão police officers in charge of processing the flux of new informations), this is a smart decision.

I hadn't considered that it's the Portuguese that are having to pay for this...

I hope that this will be over once and for all in the near future anyway.

Madeleine went missing from her family's holiday apartment on 3 May 2007, as her parents Kate and Gerry dined with friends at a nearby tapas bar.

The three-year-old and her brother and sister were left in the apartment at 20:30, with their father checking on them at 21:05.

Mrs McCann raised the alarm at 22:00 when she realised Madeleine was gone.

Since then there has been much speculation about what happened to the youngster.

A Met Police appeal launched on BBC Crimewatch last week prompted 2,400 responses.

Met detectives also released two e-fits of a man seen carrying a child in Praia da Luz at 22:00 on the night Madeleine went missing and it was revealed that they now suspected Madeleine could have been taken later than previously thought - just before her mother returned to the apartment to check on her.

All happening now ......good news as solid concrete evidence must have been found of something to reopen it as the AG said back in 2008

My daily recording of ITV lunchtime news came in handy....transcript.......

From ITV news

In the last half hour the Portuguese inquiry into the disappearance of Madeleine Mccann has been reopened. The country's attorney general has given permission to restart the original investigation five years after it was closed.

He says  there are new leads in the case and it us just ten days since british detectives launched a new appeal for information. Our new Europian Affairs correspondence Emma Murphy is in Lisbon this afternoon. So Emma, what can you tell us?

Emma Murphy:
Well i can tell you this is a very significant moment in the inquiry into the disappearance of Madeleine Mccann. For an investigation to be reopened here in Portugal there has be a substantial level of new evidence and its clesr that the Attorney General feels that the review thats been going on since last year here in Portugal has actually generated that information and thats why they have decided to reopen this case that has been closed for many years.

This is also completely separate to the investigation that has been going on by the British police so its quite significant that we now have two investigations both finding new things that need to be looked at.

The Home Secretary Teresa May  today  welcomed the reopenong of the case.

Teresa May:

I welcome the developments that have taken place and the  work that the metropolitan police are doing with the portuguese police on this case and I  hope what we are going to see is a resolution of this case for thee sake of Maddie's parents and family.

ITV reporter:
So emma what happens now then?

Emma Murphy:
Well now the work really gets underway,  we understand already that police officers from this Portuguese  review are on the Algarve starting to work  out a plan of action, who they wish to speak to, what questions they want to put to them and amongst that group we think there are  a number of men who were thoughht to be in the area at the time who have been on various sex offenders registers both  in this country and abroad. Now whats important about this is it seems to suggest they are moving towards the thought that Madeleine may have been taken by a foreign group of paedophiles.

The investigation team  who have working on this are all specialists in child abduction, now child abduction was not something the Portuguese were absolutely sure had taken place in the early days of this investigation so its quite telling they have shifted their focus in that way and of course this will all be complimented by the work of the British authorities.  They  will be doing their investigation and that will be a lot easier now because this investigation in Portugal is open they have access to those who they believe may be suspects and the interview process will be so much easier.

PS Cariad MO saw diddly squat so his evidence is null there

Excellent news, but I want the other 6 missing kids found as well

They and their parents are important too.

This man / men has to be stopped.  Children are too precious to allow this to go on.

Will the tapas 7 refuse to participate in a reconstruction at this stage in the same way they refused to cooperate with the Portuguese?  Lets face it, we all know who obstructed the investigation the first time around and even kept e-fits on ice.  oops   @)(++(*

Maybe someone who knows about the law in Portugal can answer this.  Can the PJ question witnesses who were previously made arguidos without them being made arguidos again??

If anyone obstructed the investigation it was the tapas 9.  The McCanns couldn't get out of there quick enough the moment they were suspected and the rest of the group would not return to take part in a proper reconstruction.  If anyone is to blame for the shelving it is them, not the Portuguese.

Ever noticed how the McCanns only return to Portugal occasionally and one at a time until accompanied by the SY.

Depends what kind of questions they want to ask them.
