The Peg Quote was to do with Madeleine's first School in England.  They kept a peg for her in the hope she would be found.

So many misunderstandings.  Although even 80% wouldn't have been good enough for a Court of Law,

Afraid not. The writer's children were a Mini and a baby, so neither they nor Madeleine should have had pegs with their names on in the Tapas area creche;

We walked towards the kiddie club. No one else was there. We felt awful, such terrible parents for even considering the idea. Then we saw, waiting inside, some of the Mark Warner nannies. They had been up most of the night but had still turned up to work that day. They were intelligent, thoughtful young women and we liked and trusted them. The dance show was cancelled, but they wanted to put on a normal day for the children. Our daughter ran inside and started painting. Then, behind us, another set of parents arrived looking equally washed out. Then another, and another. We decided, in the end, to leave them for two hours. We put their bags on the pegs and saw the one labelled "Madeleine". Heads bent, we walked away, into the guilty glare of the morning
sun.

 MARK WARNER had said, you know, ‘We’ll open the crèche and all of the children can stay at the Tapas irrespective of age and there’s more staff on there so’, you know, ‘if you do need to go to’, you know, ‘the Police it’s covered throughout the day’, but, erm, I don’t quite know where that, that sort of fitted into things.

So what is your point exactly?  When Madeleine wouldn't have had a Peg anyway.

Just one important difference;

It has already been checked! They are Ukrainians from Alvor with a blonde daughter who attends the “A Flor” crèche in Portimao.

Find this odd though:

At this address at about 13.00 KZ, a Ukrainian citizen with temporary residence permit no. +++, mobile n+++ the wife of the aforementioned accompanied by her baby son DK was contacted by myself and my colleague Milton Trigo. She identified her husband as being the owner of vehicle with NIF nº 234700025, her husband, together with a colleague from work, on Monday 21-05-2007 at about 15.00 left for the Ukraine for some time, also taking with them her daughter aged 4, IK, who like her son was born in Portugal where they have lived for the past 6 years. Her husband and daughter are staying at the following address *******, Ukriane, telephone number *****.............................................

Just out of curiosity, I wonder if they have returned to Portugal yet.

If all the creche children had their tea at the Tapas, would they need pegs for whatever paraphernalia they might have with them?

I think this is an extension of C Northcote Parkinson's bicycle shed story.

So what is your point exactly?  When Madeleine wouldn't have had a Peg anyway.

What is being inferred is that the children had pegs with their names on them where parents placed their bags. . The writer's children and Madeleine attended the facilities above the Main Reception, so that's where their named pegs would have been on 3rd May. On 4th May all the children were cared for at the Tapas facility regardless of age. That means in the building next to the tennis courts with the pointed roof. The nannies are unlikely to have created new pegs for the children who normally attended the rooms above the main reception for two reasons. One is, they had been up practically all night searching. The other is they had no idea if children were going to turn up or not. They would not have created a peg for Madeleine either way.

@ jassi

The children ate on a 'raised area' near the Tapas restaurant. They would not have passed the Tapas restaurant to go to the creche building and put their bags in there when they came from Main Reception with Cat Baker to eat their high tea. This is a good pic showing the Tapas bar/restaurant. The creche is the white building just below Fiona Paynes pic.

I'm sure they did, but perhaps they were told to go away and not be so silly.

Not necessarily. If people from certain quarters were simply jamming the phone lines to point out the resemblance to Gerry without any further evidence to support it, then, yes, they may well have been told to take a hike.

If someone had phoned in with a credible lead (whoever it may have been), then I see no reason why that lead would not have been taken seriously.

Are not all leads credible until they have been properly checked out?

Madeleine: Pupils at her school save a seat for the missing four-year-old
By SAM GREENHILL
Last updated at 00:51 31 August 2007

It was the first day of the autumn term but one seat in the classroom was empty.

It belonged to Madeleine McCann, who should have been starting primary school yesterday.

Instead, her classmates said a poignant prayer for her to return safe to her distraught parents.

The school has also reserved Madeleine a coat peg and locker in the hope she will one day be able to use them.

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Thanks for that, Brietta.  At least there is some point to this article.

http://www.madeleinefilms.net/page4.php

PLEASE NOTE: We have been contacted by Martin Smith who is mentioned towards the end of this programme. Mr. Smith reported seeing a man carriying a child on the night in question. Mr Smith stated the following ...

Dear Mr. Hall,
I have just watched the 4 parts of your new film "Buried by Mainstream Media etc" which I found very interesting. I would like to point out a major inaccuracy near the end of part 4 of the film where it was stated that I was "friends with Robert Murat". This statement is untrue and I would like it corrected. I had come across Mr.Murat twice in the previous 12 months, had never been introduced to him and merely knew him by sight.

Yours sincerely,

Martin Smith.

Twisting this issue on its head - how sure was MS that the RM whose picture was being shown on the TV & in the newspapers was the same person he knew by sight only from 2 previous encounters (one of them viewed not sporting glasses & appearing drunk) in a 12 month period? I wonder what specific reason MS had for learning a name. without being introduced?
