Cannot be the tractorman, he hasn't died since the Crimewatch.

LOL they are all dropping like flies.

It says:

Last month Scotland Yard released new e-fits of a man suspected of abducting her when she was three from the family’s rented apartment at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz.

It is believed he has since died.

God it gets worse.

This is one of the photos of our lovely tractorman he is 6ft 2in by the way so would be an easy fit for the window.... 8(0(*    This filthy bit of journo well it should be taken off the tabloids it is based on lies and half truths. That poor family and widow. Oh since this photo one of my other forum buddies has seen another photo of him and he is CAUCASIAN in that one.......

I don't understand why, if the police can determine thanks to triangulation that this man was at a certain time in PDL, they have to interview his widow on his whereabouts.

You are so close minded. It would not be about his whereabouts at the time of the suspected abduction, but about his behaviour before and after the time.

The Daily Mirror has now published a photo of the late Sr Euclides Monteiro.

What a disgrace!  Lord Leveson must be tearing his hair out.
The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

Nothing Leveson said is transgressed by that page.

Why do this? What possible purpose can this serve? None of the sightings were of black men. If he was in the area, fine, get all the information that you can to eliminate or include him in and investigation, but to print a photo of someone's dead husband and father in relation to a crime which he may well be innocent of is just utterly disgraceful!

The newspaper is doing it to sell newspapers- that is their job!

However it is useful to have the press following up stories legally and pressuring the police- it is often the media which makes the police think more widely about a case.

The problem is with the police who after leaking the information about who they were considering should have known that this would follow.

Additionally it opens up the possibility that other people may remember this man hanging around the complex in his supposed attempts to steal.

Good for your consistency. I thought you were in favour of a free press. No laws or rules have been broken. This is a free press working- bringing information out for the people to read.

Do we know for certain who has released the name & photo? Has it been released officially, or this from some unattributed leak?
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

Or maybe not -

So if the 'press' as you call it accused you of such a crime without any evidence, you would have no problems with it ?

You are proving me right...where did the press get his name from

This is one of the rare occasions we can agree.

Police Forces, whatever their origin, leak.
