you think its funny... I think its sad the the Portuguese investigation was so poor...

Yes we know what you think, but thats irrelevant in the context of this thread....do sign the petition please unless you think it is useless and Ben might find his own way home..because he is old enough to do so!!!!!

It's ridiculous....and besides, KerryNeedham didn't "wait this long" as suggested to ask for govt help, she has been doing it for years and years and got the brush off....now that the Mccanns case has been branded an exceptional one, and given unlimited time and funds, Home Office quote that is, no wonder she might feel a bit annoyed with the govt......good luck to her I say....she has a petition going on which requires 100k signatures forthe govt to seriously look at it, but has only got 14k or so so far...

This is the petition site if anyone wants to sign or tweet or favebook to friends or other contacts who have thousands of followers....it costs nothing

It is extremely relevant...if there had been a thorough Portuguese investigation there would have been no need for SY to be involved...we had amaral being sacked and then the head of the pj ...Riberio ...having to resign because he criticised the pj in making the McCanns arguidos

Utter tosh, the PJ investigation was as thorough as you can expect of any police force in any given circumstance..in many cases more thorough.....so theymade a few mistakes, who hasnt.....the case went cold....well....thats the story......now tell me who, apart from the tabloids, ever said it was a shambles......can you? No!

I bet no other police force was subjected to the torrent of the British media or illegal PIs either interfering......they too stand as perverters in the course of justice...not all, some, imo

This is so off topic anyway.......did you sign Kerrys petition?

Riberio..head of the pj..was critical of the investigation and had to resign...he felt that the MCcanns should not have been made arguidos...it is relavent to the thread... a thorough pj investigation and SY would not have needed to get involved

Moita Flores, the other day, even blamed Amaral for not putting the PRs on watch.
SY would likely not have had to bear such an unbelievable situation because media, Pis and PRs would have been frightened by the consequences.

Has nothing to do with Ben Needham, so, no, irrelevant! Take it elsewhere....oh and I suppose from your answer it means you haven't signed the petition, in your own words how heartless hey? He can easily just get home by himself according to you and the PM is right in refusing any help....well, seeing as next year is the year Maddie can be deemed dead as missing for seven years, I suppose SY should stop too in their investigations....?

The thread is about the support for the two case so my points are relevant... Maddie is a missing child...Ben is a missing adult..thats the difference

It is surprising that the e-petition only has 14, 000 + signatories so far. The law is that once 100,000 signatures are received, a backbench review committee has to take on the matter.

This would place the question of funding and support for the case in government hands and would make sidestepping a lot more difficult. The decision might be positive or negative - but just getting to the point  of having matters officially considered would be a big step.

As Redblossom says, it doesn't cost anything to sign the petition.

how much support did the McCanns online petition get...the bottom line is that they have far more support than the Needhams
