As it happened, No, she didn't. But surely The Police are supposed to look for missing children. When did it become the responsibility of parents to track down their own missing child?
Breathtaking audacity! The police no doubt smelt the biggest red herring in the world that evening. As Kate helpfully records in her book within the space of a few minutes she 'just knows' what has happened to Madeleine.....those billowing curtains don't you know.
The McCann's extraordinary behaviour that evening.....bowing down as though in prayer.......
Are you suggesting that the McCann's have no responsibility for Madeleine? How about not leaving your children alone in an apartment? Where do you stand on that, seeing as that is a FACT than cannot be refuted?
So, it became the responsibility of EVERYONE but the McCanns to look after Madeleine, did it?
Why were the McCann's so busy after Madeleine disappeared hiring reputation managers, their own detectives who were dodgy as hell and media advisors? How was this supposed to help 'find Madeleine?'
Many people searched throughout the night looking for Madeleine....but not her parents. ....they couldn't even be bothered to speak to the neighbour who may have provided some very useful evidence for them - such as hearing crying/a commotion. No, Kate just shouted at her no doubt because she was completely bemused by the McCann's story. As were the police.
Several people have done an excellent job of sifting through witness statements and media interviews that the McCanns gave after Madeleine disappeared. One of the many insights was that it takes time to process information, especially a traumatic event. The responses of the McCanns were inauthentic. Gerry 'roaring like a bull'. That is not what you would do in this situation. He supposedly did not know what had happened to Madeleine (although both parents claimed she had been abducted by a stranger). Therefore at least in the early stages, an authentic reaction would be to hope that Madeleine would be found. You would not immediately reach a conclusion about what had happened UNLESS you knew what had happened.
The police weren't stupid. They saw right through the McCann's amateur theatricals, in my opinion.
Right from the start, the McCanns were determined to blame everyone else - the police, anyone who didn't believe their pie in the sky story.
Page 81 of Kate's book: 'Back in the apartment.......Dianne and I sat there staring at each other.....'
Oh right, that's going to help find Madeleine is it?
'Gerry was stretched out on the camp bed with Amelie asleep on his chest. He kept saying, 'Kate, we need to rest.'
So Gerry was sleeping on the night that his daughter was alleged abducted by an unknown paedophile. Amazing. For so many reasons.
'At long last, dawn broke'.
So, the McCanns are quite happy to go to bed, leaving others to search for their daughter. And it's all everyone else's fault that she hasn't been found, right?
Their sheer AUDACITY is more than breathtaking. It is scarcely believable. Full blown narcissism, in my opinion. Astonishing.
