a)Because they were not strangers.
b)Because they could actually go into the apartments - rather than being restricted to listening outside.
c) Because they didn't have to worry whether checks were actually being carried out on time.

With the apartment unsecured "strangers" did have access to them and at least one toddler was enabled to get out and find her parents, apparently......meeting who knows what manner of "stranger"!

Who exactly did go into the apartment and actually see Madeleine safely sleeping on the night she disappeared, though?

The words never seem to quite match what really happened during this "superior checking service"

(...........but still they keep being trotted out.)

Do you expect that day to come any time soon?

No. I cannot see this case being solved either by formal charges, or to the satisfaction of both sides in the debate.

So the only outcome left is that they "wilfully" neglected the night creche service in favour of "wilfully" leaving the children alone. Attempting an inadequate improvisation of a listening service that the OC "wilfully" chose not to employ.

You need to research the legal meaning of 'wilfully'.

Wilful :-having or showing a stubborn and determined intention to do as one wants, regardless of the consequences.

Seems to fit the bill in places.

You are right, Lyall.   8((()*/

It was personal and it involved seeing the children asleep. Also their checks were more fequent than the recognised ones in hotels, butlins etc.  And they could see the patio doors, which were the only ones unlocked.

can you back that up? because, as has been mentioned umpteen times before that is the opposite of what GM has told us in his documentary! You must have missed all the posts

Well, he may have meant he did actually look and see but didn't actually have to stick his head round the door to do so

 >@@(*&)

Point is the mccanns have never said they did any visual checks,(save that last night because the door was "more open") it's false to imply so

if any of the kids had choked on something eg they wouldn't know about it
