the mccanns have by me

There's a big difference. The evidence in the George case was examined five times, and you can read both Appeal court rulings online.

Big difference.

Your conclusions are based on amateur interpretations of the evidence.

So you believe people are innocent until proven guilty, but someone found not guilty isn't innocent? >@@(*&)

we have had this discussion so many times and posters still don't understand.....this is why the idea that the mccnns did not prove their innocence is stupid.

have a look at the meaning of presumption of innocence...no one is ever found innocent of  crime . Barry George has not been cleared and not paid compensation..is he innocent...who knows ...is he entitled to the presumption of innocence..yes

He only hasn't received compensation because the last government changed the law.

He is as innocent now as he would have been had the police/cps originally decided not to charge him. You're just nitpicking.

Cleared, suspect and innocent are all terms which are often used in the Madeleine case.  Unfortunately, they mean different things to different people and can also have a different legal meaning depending on which country you happen to be in.

Scotland Yard have stated in no uncertain terms that the McCanns are neither suspects or persons of interest.  I don't recall them stating that they have been cleared or are innocent because frankly, they can't.

I agree ..defendents are found not guilty...never innocent...it is virtually impossible to prove innocence...no wonder the mccanns didn't return to Portugal to try and PROVE their innocence

Cleared of what?

At the same time SY has stated that Madeleine might still be alive.. this is what they believe after a careful review of the case..

what exactly are you doing here

It was a serious question.

This is supposed to be about what happened to Madeleine, not about who can be the most offensive.

You're winning by the way.

The email exchanges between T7 Stuart Prior and Ricardo Paiva are always worth a reread just to appreciate the amount of "ring twitter" that was going on. Draw your own conclusions. I love the one where Paiva finally loses patience.
