I very much doubt they have a great deal of informaion to suggest she is alive.

Unfortunately you are probably spot on

SY are investigating with equal resources scenarios where she is either dead or alive. I have the quote somewhere. I doubt they have any concrete info so far though.

That is very interesting.

~If you can find the quote in your encyclopedia there it would be very useful..

I agree with you on that but it's not the same question..

Concrete evidence pointing to murder?

Murder is highly improbable if one thinks it through.

See my post 231. I think he was caught flatfooted (pardon the drollness) and we are reading too much into it. See Robert Browning and Bob Dylan.

Haven't ever seen Robert Browning and Bob Dylan in the same sentence before, Estuarine - or am I missing something?

Why, Estuarine?

Few abductors keep their victims alive for any length of time.

Redwood said he "genuinely" believed Madeleine could be alive, though the team is following an equal line of inquiry that she might now be dead.

Reading into text something that isn't there:
Robert Browning when questioned what he meant "When I wrote it only Robert Browning and God knew what it meant. Now God knows"
Bob Dylan " You can make it mean what ever you want it to mean I was just looking for a word to rhyme with coat".
I think Sir Bernard was found wanting in his reaction and we shouldn't take too much notice of hidden meanings that probably aren't there.

Thanks for that, Red.

Nearly two years ago that that article was published. Let's hope things have been narrowed down a bit at least.

'Have they lost a child or, errr... by being murdered or... sadly... or have they lost a child by someone else stealing them.

Nicky Campbell: Awful.

Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe: Either way, errr... they've got that terrible uncertainty, so we're all trying our best to help resolve that. We...

Tragically, abductors do murder their victims ...

Thanks for the explanation!

Yes, he was certainly caught off guard, and didn't handle the conversation too well. No cause for alarm however.

But do they often murder before abducting?

No, that's why we shouldn't read to much into his words.

Good job he was not being interviewed by Jeremy Paxman or it may have turned into a completely different type of discussion.
