A source said: “All the cases mentioned were investigated by us here. Monteiro was arrested but freed because of lack of evidence.’’

Hmm. And the media missed that episode at a time when no one could blink without the tabloids reporting on it?

Tabloids only see and report what they want to, so no surprise, really.

Of course they do, but they have a very small readership - tabloids reach millions

I reckon these witnesses might be children who aren't differentiating by race.

Very good point. Perhaps children (waking up) crying and telling their parents what had happened.

"Dark brown tanned skin" he said.

DCI is too PC to say black guy.

That is ridiculous.

If he was of African appearance, they would say "he was of African appearance".

What's "un pc" about that?

Didn't it report that the smelly guy had a pot belly? That doesn't sound like the junkie black guy.
Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

"The Junkie Black Guy" is Euclides Monterio, he has a name and people who love him.

Also, it is impossible for Euclides to be Smithman.

It is impossible for Euclides to be Smellyman (he was already deceased).

http://portugalresident.com/someone-knows-madeleine-mccann’s-abductor

Unless you posted the wrong address Eleanor, something has happened to your Portugal Resident newspaper link

When I tried to open it, I clicked on it.

It wouldn't open and I noticed that the line underneath stopped short at the end of mccann, instead of at the end of abductor, so the incorrect address was posted.  No wonder it wouldn't open !

1.  http://portugalresident.com/someone-knows-madeleine-mccann’s-abductor
2.  http://portugalresident.com/someone-knows-madeleine-mccann’s-abductor

Can you see the difference between the two addresses ?

Click on, or copy and paste, number 2 and the newspaper article will appear.  The first one is an incomplete address.

It is well worth reading.  An eye-opener, in fact

ETA:  There is still a gremlin about.  Please read two posts down in order to open this very interesting article

That has changed again Eleanor.  See the red and the black ?

I will retype it

http://portugalresident.com/someone-knows-madeleine-mccann's-abductor

I have retyped it in black and it has come up in red.  Why is that ?

It still doesn't work.

There is interference.  It worked when I emailed it to you, but maybe I copy and pasted it?

To open it, copy and paste it into your browser.  Do not click on it.  Please let me know if it still doesn't work

It is well worth a read.

As this was said by AR at the same time as the appeal about the monster who sexually assaulted several little girls from 12 families  - (some being saved only by the intervention of their parents) was made  -  then  IMO it is far more likely that there is something in that person's modus operandi which has emerged after interviewing the families which has led them to believe that Madeleine may have been killed - maybe even accidentally by that man - and the McCanns do not come into it - and possibly - neither do the dogs -whose alerts could be completely unrelated.

In their eagerness to believe SY are about to put the McCanns in the frame - that particular monster seems to have been eliminated from the equation altogether by some people.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

As the investigation progresses things will change as people are ruled in and out of the inquiry resulting in changes of emphasis and direction.
What won’t have changed is the initial information which caused NSY to rule Madeleine’s parents out, and that includes the dog alerts in 5a and elsewhere.
The focus of the investigation is now firmly directed elsewhere and I for one will be astounded if it includes the parents, although nothing can be ruled out.

I think Benice has hit the nail on the head when she says something may have been discovered about the perpetrator of the attacks on British children which has caused the concern to be raised that Madeleine may have died in the apartment.

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Well, for whatever reason you care to imagine,  Scotland Yard have placed a dead Madeleine in the apartment where a cadaver dog alerted

For the first time that possibility has been acknowledged by them

That is the bald fact
