I don't understand why people are jumping to conclusions that these "leaks" to the media are coming from the PJ when these questionings are related to Scotland Yard's investigation and as such these are SY's suspects.

Additionally, a lot of people, such as administration clerks, are involved in the preparations for the question of the suspects, so the leaks might not be coming from the main police forces involved in the investigation. [sarcasm] Who knows, the media might even be wiretapping the investigators' phones to stay on top of the case... [/sarcasm]

Depends which antenna he activated and when ... it also depends on who he phoned and when ... and who that person phoned etc; etc;
Heri gleaned a great deal of information from the files in the public domain and was able to pinpoint named (to the authorities) individuals who should be looked at.  This was way before the case was re-opened.

If one man can do that with only data from the files ... imagine what the PJ and the Met can achieve with the resources they command and access to all the information.

Yes, I understand the theoretical capabilities of phone tracking. I was commenting that being tracked in a small place like PDL is hardly surprising given that he lives there.

I don’t … but there are people, like you, who do. When one of them devotes a lot of time and effort to analysing the available information; explains in language even I can understand how he has reached a particular conclusion which requires to be looked at; I back his expertise against conjecture, however logical, and your point is logical.
