I think JB is a classic example of someone with a narcissitic personality. Brian Blackwell who killed his parents is listed as someone with it and JB is as close as I think I can get to a comparable person.

Blackwell was actually convicted of manslaughter because of his Narcisistic Personality Disorder. The police and the CPS readily agreed to this because he is quite obviously not right in the head. I bet a pound to a penny Bamber fits all the criteria for NPD!
Good observation Tim. Bamber fits the profile quite well doesn't he.  8((()*/

Another fascinating case of a similar nature is the Sebastian Burns /Atif Rafay's murder of the Rafay family in the USA. They were eventually caught in Canada by a fabulous police sting operation. Anyone who thinks Bamber is an arrogant, callous killer  should watch the Sebastian Burns youtube clips .... I have never seen anyone quite so arrogant!
Agreed Tim. I have just watched a few clips. The overbearing arrogance is immediately apparent. It seems to be a common thread amongst these people. What they fail to understand is that other people can detect this. One flaw that a psychopath has is the total inability to empathise - to know what others are feeling or seeing. They are also very poor at self analysis. They cannot detect flaws in their own characters believing themselves to be always right and will often, and without shame extol their own virtues. Hence the over-bearing and often obnoxious arrogance.

I agree Ian; Bamber has no idea of how most people view him and I bet he behaved just like Sebastian Burns at his trial. Of course Bamber's inflated and delusional opinion of himself is reinforced by his small  band of fawning Bamberettes who all seem to think he is as wonderful as he thinks himself!

Thankfully the courts, the CCRC and the police aren't idiots and  can see through Bamber's shallow veneer of angelic innocence to the narcissistic psychopath that lies beneath! Isn't it satisfying in this case to see justice being done time after time!

Something i have always wondered?

When bamber was nabbed for doing the Osea Camping site he went to court and back from the police station with a jumper over his head but when he was attending trial for the murders he walked along dressed to kill (sorry) without a care in the world.

Can anyone explain this for me please?

David, I think that at the time of the court procedures connected to the caravan park robbery, it was not that big a case, and Jeremy had not yet been charged with the murders, had he? He had an interest in not being recognised.
At the time of the murder trial, pretty much everyone knew who he was, so there was no point in hiding anymore.

I think perhaps in the murder trial he was absolutely convinced he was going to get away with it that it's almost like he wants to be seen because he's so cock sure of his own innocence.

David that is an excellent question. What many don't know is that the Arran sweater Bamber is seen wearing in the photo actually belonged to Sheila. He took it from her Maida Vale flat after he 'cleared' it after taking possession of it. Further, this photo was taken after he was formally charged with burglary of the Osea Caravan Park. Unknown at the time to many observers Bamber was, in fact, questioned directly in relation to the White House Farm Murders. It was the first time Bamber was actually quizzed on the matter and the local press sensing something some kind of development in the case, turned up.
I believe there is a reason why Bamber adopted two very different attitudes in the photos. The first, he wanted to pretty much remain anonymous. It would have been the first clue to the wider public that maybe things were not as they seem. This was the last thing Bamber wanted. The second is a complete volte face. Bamber had already been charged and he saw little benefit in attempting the 'anonymous route' He wanted to present a confident and somewhat over the top 'look, I am so not guilty' image. Neither of which actually worked

I believe there is definitely something in that Joanne.  He only betrayed his true feelings when the verdicts came back.

Can anyone answer this question.

There are two different sets of photos/video showing Jeremy coming out from the court building.  In one he is escorted by a police sergeant while in the other he is escorted by two detectives.

Does anyone know why he had to leave the court twice?

The second photo was his first court appearance on the burglary charge when he was granted unconditional bail.

The first photo I think must have been his second court appearance on October 16th.1985, even though he was dressed in the same clothing.

Correction for my previous post..., Anne Leuchars statement at the end preceded events to follow.

On 8th. September, 1985 Bamber was charged with burglary and theft from Osea Caravan Park.

He appeared in Chelmsford Court the following day. Bail was refused. The police were using the burglary as holding charge to question him over the murders. (first photo)

Five days in prison, hence the no change in clothing.

On the 13th. September, 1985 he appeared in court again on the same charge but was granted unconditional bail.
(second photo, from the video)

The van was used to escort him back to his Goldhanger cottage.

He then left immediately for a holiday in St.Tropez.

When Bamber and Brett Collins returned to Dover on the 30th. September, 1985, he was again arrested and the following day charged with murder.

thank you for that myster.   I hadn't realised that he was kept in police custody for so long.  Obviously he was on his own from the moment he was arrested since nobody bothered to provide him with a change of clothing.   Says it all.

Yes..., looks like (nearly) everybody abandoned the "headless man" after the first court appearance.
