I don’t think the dogs were particularly useless; I think they just could not find what was not there to be found in the first place; unfortunately a huge belief system has been built round what they singularly did not find which has persisted for nearly seven years now.

Life has moved on for most of us and the mere fact that official resources have now been directed at investigating Madeleine’s case gives it the best chance it has ever had of being solved; the PJ stopped looking for her in the days after her disappearance because they had decided she was dead.

What has long intrigued me about the searches is Mark Harrison's summary of them.

He owns UK participation in those searches he recommended; the places Madeleine either had been or conceivably might have been: the holiday apartments, areas in and around PdL and the Murats' place.

Both inspections at the villa and at the gym he summaries as PJ exercises.

And Harrison's only recommendation in respect of vehicles was all vehicles owned or driven by Murat.

In his summary, Harrison gives no clue who took part in the inspection of vehicles.

From the files, the only explanation of the inspection at the gym is as it is about to happen: an attempt to identify clothing possibly indicated by the dogs (in the earlier inspection at the villa).

Most curious.

Nothing changes still on about the useless dogs lol.....this case is never going to  be solved. Life has moved on sadly.

There was NOTHING useles about the dogs per se.

It was Amarals non understanding of what the forensics meant that was useless.

I am being very kind to Amaral stating that it was his lack of understanding .....

Grime said Eddie reacted to the toy and he is (supposed to be!) the expert ...

If there was any scent coming from those papers or something associated, I guess that will for ever remain a point of speculation.

An interesting one, though ...

you only have to look at the rogatory questions to grime...proof that the pj did not understand the alerts

They understood perfectly well what the dogs more than probably alerted to, it merely lacked the forensic corroboration.

"merely ?? lacked the forensic corroboration."

You seem to believe that 'mere' evidence has no value; that is indeed a dangerous philosophy quite on a par with believing in the effectiveness of the ducking stool.

A completely irrelevant and childish comparison.

I have already stated innumerable times, the forensics were inconclusive.

Now if a body was found, it could well be a different matter.

So other than the dogs 'indications', what else has come to light in this case ?

... and what light have the dogs' indications thrown onto Madeleine's case? ... apart from very successfully deflecting attention from the perpetrator/s.

You have demonstrated one thing in your previous post ~ and that is your disregard for the probity of evidence.

In this post you have demonstrated your total hypocrisy; you continue to berate other posters and report them for 'abusive' comments at every opportunity; what is your “A completely irrelevant and childish comparison.”?

If not abusive it most certainly is derogatory.

People in glass houses and all that, but then I have noticed you tend to lose the plot in ratio to losing the argument.

NOTHING, all that money SY spent, ZERO. Ground zero in fact. Until the blinkers are taken off there is no point to any of it. Every single post is just like ground hog day , round and round it goes........nothing new, nothing new, nothing new........

Lots of things have happened in the world since the child disappeared. SY waste of space IMHO. They should concentrate on their own cold cases...perhaps find Claudia Lawrence, and Suzy Lamplugh, might be a start.

Glad you were able to get that off your chest.

Now ~ since you obviously have an opinion on everything under the sun ~ what is your opinion of Eddie having a good sniff at the pile of papers on top of the sideboard before starting to bark?

An exact parallel:

1. In the apartment, Eddie sniffs the first wardrobe shelf up from the floor and then immediately alerts.
(Note that this is the shelf which, on the night, had contained a large untidy pile of clothing).

2. In the villa, Eddie sniffs a neatly folded pile of clothing (or papers as everyone else claims) and then immediately alerts.

In both alerts, last place sniffed is the place to look.

Hypothetically: If something had 3 months earlier been located temporarily on the first shelf up in wardrobe - wouldn't that explain why the exact location sniffed immediately before alerting was the first shelf up in wardrobe?

Following that logic, your assertion seems to be that ‘something’ had been located on top of the sideboard.

I think that it is really way beyond the time when the fact that there was no forensic evidence found anywhere in PDL which could even hypothetically indicate the death of Madeleine McCann should be accepted.

Saying it, imagining it, ignoring the information received from the FSS does not alter that fact.

It should also be accepted that had there been the slightest evidence pointing to the guilt of Madeleine's parents in any way whatsoever, they would have been charged.

Then you seem to be at odds with SY who seem to have indications that Madeleine may indeed have perished in 5a.
Brietta posted on 10/04/2022 “But whether or not that is the reason behind the delay I am certain that Brueckner's trial is going to take place.”

Let’s count the months, shall we?

IMO no doubt emanating from information gleaned from the parents of all those UK children assaulted in their beds by the same man whilst on holiday in Portugal.    There may well be something in his MO which has caused them to believe that Madeleine may have been killed, either purposely or by accident, if he was the perpetrator.   If, for instance, he always put his hand over his victims mouths - that could result in death by suffocation.

Anyone hoping that SY's belief (that it is possible that Madeleine may have died in 5A) is connected to her parents, is deluding themselves IMO.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.
