Why would the keycard have been there? The McCanns were kicked out of the villa at short notice at around 6pm when the PJ came to "film". How do you suppose they left and went elsewhere other than in the Scenic?

Possible, who drove the vehicle to the garage?  If it was the PJ the key card might have been in the villa, possibly in the folder. 

I considered that someone could have recieved a paper cut and deposited a drop of blood amongst the paperwork on the sideboard top, sometimes they do bleed slightly and that is all the dogs need.
When I think about it - I didn't see Keela working at the villa.

Vehicle search was Aug 6th (GM drove it to a cafe in Portimao, PJ presumably drove it from cafe to garage).

Just watched the Panorama Nov 19th 2007 programme after reading Misty's post, where John Corner (appx 27:37) describes the PJ asking everyone to leave the villa.  The vehicle being used to exit appeared to be the Renault hire car.

Still more astonishing is that the self-same people who don't believe the content of Kate's book regard Amaral's book, almost, as some kind of infallible guide ...

I have not sat down and read the internet translations of Dr Amaral’s book from start to finish but of the excerpts I have read some were just plain wrong even at time of writing and others were incredibly naïve to have been penned by a detective with his years of experience. 

I am convinced that this book was written first for the money and second as a means of revenge on Madeleine’s parents.  I believe it demonstrations the nature of the man and for me that is not an edifying experience.

As time and events have progressed the major flaws both in the investigation and the conclusions and beliefs of the investigators become even more heartbreakingly apparent ... and yes, I believe there is accounting for some folk most of whom I would probably cross the road to avoid if I saw them coming.

I just scrolled through it because I remembered J.Corner commenting.  I am going to watch it again because it will be interesting to see how things were reported in 2007 and compare it with recent developments.
I don't remember anything at all about the interior shots of the villa, so I will look out for that.

I think it is highly likely that the papers on the sideboard were put there by the PJ and are connected to the removal of items from the villa.
It was the logical place to stand as can be seen from the dog video where an officer is packing CCat and the pillow cases have already been removed from the table top.  If memory serves me well there is a brief glimpse of the standing officer and one who is seated.

If the papers had been anything at all to do with the McCann family I believe they would have been given the same close camera scrutiny as were the contents of the drawer, the bedside reading materials, the labels on prescription medicines etc;

In panorama video, the dining table has same table cloth, but instead of the pillows, has breakfast cereals and laptop, this is probably morning 2nd.

In the Panorama footage of loading car "they haven't come yet" is said on phone.
Which indicates the car loading footage was shot on morning of 2nd?
Also note soon after, audio possibly "lock the house"?
