The MO of the individual who allegedly assaulted those children did not include killing and abducting their bodies. As far as I am aware every one of those victims are very much alive therefore that can't be it.

We don't know what the MO was - as we haven't been given details of the information which emanated from the interviews which will have taken place with the parents.

It is not unknown for serial sex offenders to progressively get worse if they are not caught.  In fact I believe that is what usually happens.

IMO even an accidental death at the hands of the perpetrator is a very credible possibility and a very good reason to remove the body.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

But it is almost unknown for a sexual offender to escalate his offending to murder then deescalate again to simply assaulting his victims as this offender seems to have done.

Rubbish.  He may not have intended to kill Madeleine (indeed she may not even be dead).

You really don't know much about criminal psychology, do you Alfred ?

Now what part of my post was ' rubbish ' ?

Nevertheless, it is the modus operandi of the individual responsible for those attacks that prompted SY to consider that Madeleine may not have left apartment 5a alive.

(Reuters) - British detectives investigating the 2007 disappearance of Madeleine McCann said they were looking for a man suspected of carrying out a series of sexual assaults on young girls staying in Portuguese holiday villas between 2004 and 2010.

Madeleine McCann, then aged three, went missing from her bedroom at the Praia da Luz holiday resort in the Algarve region while her parents were dining with friends at a nearby restaurant, leading to a global search that gripped the world's media.

London police, who started a review of the case in 2011 and began their own investigation last year, said on Wednesday they were looking for more information about 12 crimes committed in Portuguese holiday resorts.

In four cases between 2004 and 2006 a man sexually assaulted five white girls, aged between 7 and 10 years, in their beds, in three different Algarve resorts, police said. Two of the 12 offences were committed in Praia da Luz.

"We need to eliminate this man from our enquiries and ascertain whether these offences are linked to Madeleine's disappearance," Andy Redwood, senior investigating officer at London's Metropolitan Police Service, told a news briefing.

The man, described as being tanned with short, dark, unkempt hair, spoke English with a foreign accent and would appear early in the morning. In some incidents, he was disturbed and left.

"This an offender who has got a very, very unhealthy interest in young, white female children who he's attacking while they're on holiday in their beds," Redwood said.

"ALL OPTIONS" OPEN

Redwood said the new appeal for information on the man who carried out the attacks was just one of the "priority lines" of inquiry currently being pursued. British police are also in contact with their counterparts in Spain, Belgium, Jersey, Switzerland, Netherlands and Germany over the case.

British Prime Minister David Cameron ordered a new investigation by London police after the McCanns wrote to him three years ago saying neither British nor Portuguese authorities had done enough to try to find their daughter.

Redwood said McCann might have long been dead.

"There is always the potential that she didn't leave the apartment alive. What is important for us to do is consider all the options," he said
.

Key point: consideration of this line of enquiry has nothing to do with Kate, Gerry or any of their friends.

The 'escalation' aspect of his offending could be her age.     And I did say an accidental death was a credible possibility.

Oh, right - so are you a criminal psychologist then?  Should I bow to your superior knowledge in these matters?

I have read enough about serial offenders to know that they do not always follow the same pattern, ie: that their behaviour only ever escalates.  Check out John Wayne Gacy's crimes for example.

Just because a certain behaviour may not be typical it does not mean it can be ruled out which is what you appear to want to do.  Also, we do not know if Madeleine's assailant has even struck again subsequently.  The sex attacks on children in the Algarve may have been carried out by more than one assailant.  We just don't know at this stage.

ALL is the key word. All options are being considered as it should be.

Sorry to resurrect Ccat, but trying hard to stay on topic.

Concerning the discussion taking place re: the laundry and the items alerted to in the gymnasium all coming from the same container; see - http://miscarriageofjustice.co/index.php?topic=4989.msg180804#msg180804 the potential for cross contamination suggested itself to me.

We have discussed and in general agreed that Eddie showed interest in the paperwork on top of the sideboard; the two yellow items which can be seen on top of the table must either be the pillowcases or towels mentioned in the list inspected in the gymnasium.

The first JPG shows Eddie alerting.

The second shows the table top with two yellow items.

The third shows the table top with the items removed.

The fourth shows yellow items being laid out on the gymnasium floor.

Therefore since all these items were transported in the same box it could be argued that whatever scent interested Eddie in the papers on top of the sideboard, had been transferred.

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Having made it plain separately that neither the McCanns nor their friends are suspects, Andy Redwood clearly saw no need  to belabour the point.

Perhaps he should have (belaboured the point!)

Either way, the fact remains the same.

Neither the McCanns nor their friends are suspects

... so no forensics doesn't mean that they don't believe the dogs evidence.

Dogs don't produce evidence!

They give indications.

Quite different!
not according to expert Martin Grime who stated that the no evidential or intelligence reliability can be made from these alerts unless they can be confirmed with corroborating evidence.  In other words had corroborating evidence been found the dog alerts would have constituted evidence.

Most people suspect the truth but few are able to admit it.

In other words (even Grime!) confirmed that dog alerts do not amount to evidence.

My own observation on the claimed alert to cuddle cat is that Eddie would have nosed into the cupboard if the soft toy was his target.  From the video it is plain to see that the dog made no attempt whatsoever to gain access to the cupboards even though the doors were left slightly ajar.  A bit of a dogs dinner I agree.

Well, hmm, yes, presumably. If a child's body (or other concrete evidence of her death) had been found as a result, then the dogs would have done their job.

The dogs are an asset to help forensic officers zoom in to locate potential evidence, just as a georadar scanner can be helpful. However, no evidence was found.

We all know that Madeleine may have died somewhere in PdL, but there is enough evidence around that she almost certainly lived ... much I cant share.  Sorry.

What nonsense Sadie. There isn't a single scrap of evidence which points to Madeleine having survived.  Why do you continue to post this dribble??
