A very sensible post.

I think Stephen et al are attempting to defend the indefensible and they know it; there can be no justification for the attacks on the McCann family.

As the offence becomes more and more prevalent more people, many of whom have been directly affected by online stalking and bullying, are seeing firsthand the awful effects of trolling on the victim.

This is reflected in the growing number of prosecutions, usually affecting one troll/stalker and one victim none of whom have suffered for a period of over seven years.

The level and type of abuse that has been unleashed on the McCann family is unprecedented and has been allowed to go on for far too long; there is nothing which can justify that.

Again just like benice, ONE-DIMENSIONAL.

and remember where this case started.

I have no idea.   Does it matter when the investigations began?

I imagine that given the size of the dossier presented to them the police will have quite a job on their hands collating the information to get evidence to present to the prosecution service; twitter accounts are not the only accounts they will be checking; maybe they are even checking out ringleaders and those who have opened forums and face book pages specifically to carry out 'research'; we can't really know.

I'm not expecting prosecutions any time soon ... but I am convinced there will be prosecutions.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

I agree Brietta.

No...........that`s not what I meant.

Is there an official statement from the police that an investigation has been launched at all in relation to the dossier they were handed?

A Metropolitan Police spokesman last week confirmed officers were assessing the contents of ‘documentation’ which has been passed to officers and were consulting with the Crown Prosecution Service and the McCanns.

Why was Sky News involved in "investigative journalism" then, when the information in this "sizeable dossier" was already being collated by the police?

What were the dossier compilers hoping to achieve by the involvement of Sky News?

It seems likely, as the dossier had already been in the hands of the police since the 9th of September, that the compiler was told that no charges would be brought and this prompted them to go to the press to obtain their pound of flesh.
Brietta posted on 10/04/2022 “But whether or not that is the reason behind the delay I am certain that Brueckner's trial is going to take place.”

Let’s count the months, shall we?

Thanks..........so Mrs Leyland hadn`t actually been interviewed by the police and it hadn`t been decided whether anything in the "documentation" would lead to a prosecution of anyone at all.

Since the material handed in was already freely available for the police to access and research ...............it seems that the compiler/s acted in frustration by involving the press, because their dossier hadn`t achieved the result they wanted from the police.

Is that about the size of it?

If so............all the emotive wordy bluster is a distraction from some uncomfortable issues.............and if the involvement of the dossier waving press is justifiable why has it stopped?

There is no way the authorities can go after every troll who breaks the law so they hope that by making an example of the few that the many will learn from it and desist.

We know that the authorities hadn`t made an example of Ms Leyland.............Individuals, via Sky News decided this for themselves and selected her from the "sizeable dossier" of alleged law breakers as outlined by Brietta.........including apparently "ringleaders", forum posters/owners and all sorts.

No one has given any reasons "why her" from amongst apparently so many to be made an example?

Do you think Mr Brunt wouldn't have gone after Ms Leyland, had she been a cage fighter?

I can't help wondering if his career, infront of the camera at least, is over.

Even if it isn't , then I think it's going to be quite sometime before he makes an appearence again.

So many lives messed up from Brenda to Brunt to Bed & Breakfast owners in PDL, at the root of it all, 2 parents who put their own needs before their kids. (or did something worse).

Indeed, and are you awaiting an answer? please don't hold your breath!

If trolls have been threatening the McCanns and their children with death  and or kidnapping or anything else which could cause alarm as has been mentioned so many times on the thread by Team Mc's army of internet troll busters, then WHERE ARE THEY? why do the police not go after THEM? why did Brunty not go after those really nasty trolls who are indeed breaking the law by threatening behavior.

*Holds breath*...

Phewwwwwwwwwwwwww  lol no reply.

This does make Brenda's death all the more important. Her tweets were unkind, and may have caused upset, I think we need to look at the bigger picture- what can be more upsetting than losing a child to paeophiles?
